What is this leverage you speak of? Giannas can opt out of his contract after next season. He only has to play 1 more year and he can leave for nothing. No team is trading for Turners contract. Because of pick swaps, the next 3 drafts you won’t ever have a top 5 pick unless you trade GA for one. When Horst traded for Dame he mortgaged the next 4 years of the Bucks future. Both in picks, pick swaps and dead cap money. But at least they got 1 championship out of him.

@SheaEhlert @JalenRose Respectfully, the Bucks are not the Timberwolves. The Bucks have a lot more leverage than media would lead people to believe. They get a lottery pick this draft. They have a couple of young moveable talent. Kuz and Turner aren’t players they have to stick with. I’ve seen worse.

It will be a bad decision for Giannis to leave Milwaukee when he has bloomed where he was planted. (See Dirk).

I think you completely missed my point. The issue is not about Giannis and his play. The issue is the Bucks have zero way to rebuild around him at this point for the next two years. They have no trade capital. All their future first round picks are pick swaps not in their own favor. They pay dame for another four years. They wasted money on Turner and Kuz. Horst put kept mortgaging the future for the present. Now it’s time to pay that mortgage. As a life long Minnesotan I feel your pain. I went through this same situation with KG. I want small markets to thrive. I can’t stand the big market bias. But reality is setting in for Horst.

@barstoolsports @patbev21 I’ll take D-Wade all day every day! Wade was a hell of a defensive player. I’d take ‘09 Wade over any year of Hardens. IMO Wades defense makes up for the Hardens better offense. Both guys played with a lot of elite talent, but there’s a reason Wade has 3 rings and 0 for Harden.

@JonKrawczynski Make just 2 divisions in each conference. Each division winner gets a top 2 seed in the playoffs. The end of each regular season could command a lot of attention, similar to the NFL.

This just feels right to me (except I would swap Philly and Toronto). Yes, Memphis and New Orleans are more East than Minnesota, but the teams cluster together better this way.
