Oh, and I meant 6 league WINS in a row. It was late and it turns out I'm a barely literate idiot and made a mess of an otherwise interesting stat. This will haunt me for months.

Today we made it 6 league games in a row under manager @vwp9. The last time we did it was 20 years ago the gaffer was a striker and the run included a sub appearance from a promising young striker @lgreggers9! That run stretched to 8 - something to aim for in our next games!

Our best ever winning run in all competitions is 10 matches. In league games only the record is 13, so still some way to go to get that one!

Still just the one goal in this, in our favour, but it's nervy stuff from us and has needed a top quality save from Greaves at his near post to keep us ahead.

I am in place at Bottesford today and will update any goal news as soon as it happens. Still 0-0 and nothing but scraps in the way of efforts for either side really. Best chance probably fell to us but didn't connect on front of the goal.

What do you mean by modern football and what did Scotland "invent"? Henry VIII owned a pair of football boots which pre-date the football you mention above.
