Hospitals often have restricted visiting hours. The reason is often just “because that’s the rules”. But these arbitrary rules can be upsetting for relatives and harmful for patients. A week ago, we had a beautiful baby girl. The maternity unit were amazing and let me visit all hours of the day. But all patients should be able to benefit from this. My article in today’s mail health section explains why I passionately think we should liberalise patient visiting rules and shows the evidenced that backs this up. More hospitals are starting to adopt this, but I believe there are massive benefits if this becomes normal practice. If you agree, please share!
