While President Tinubu eats cake in London, the Global Terrorism Index confirms that more Nigerians have died from terrorist attacks under his watch than at any other time in history. Under President Bola Tinubu and the APC: 1. Terror attacks have surged by 43 percent, rising from 120 incidents in 2024 to 171 in 2025. 2. Borno State now accounts for 67 percent of attacks and 72 percent of deaths. 3. Most concerning, civilians now make up 67 percent of those killed, while the Nigerian military makes up 19 percent. That is a measure of how exposed ordinary Nigerians have become under this administration. It is interesting to note that when 7 American soldiers were killed in the recent Iran conflict, President Trump went to receive their bodies. But when 30 civilians were killed this week in Borno, President Tinubu flew to the United Kingdom for tea and biscuits. This is why the ADC will take three decisive steps to fix Nigeria’s broken security system and restore safety across the country. First, we will fix coordination. Nigeria does not lack intelligence, it lacks coordination. Today, agencies operate in silos, warnings are missed, and response is delayed. The ADC will establish a legally mandated national intelligence coordination system, led by a Coordinator of National Intelligence, and a unified Joint Terrorism Task Force. The goal is simple: no more missed signals, no more confusion, no more excuses. Second, we will bring security closer to the people. Nigeria cannot be policed effectively from Abuja alone. The ADC will implement a decentralized policing system with federal, state, and community layers, each with clear roles and national standards. This will ensure faster response, clearer accountability, and security that reflects the local realities of the 774 local government areas. Third, we will shift from reaction to prevention. Today, Nigeria reacts to attacks after lives are lost. The ADC will build an intelligence-driven, preventive security system that is powered by data, early warning systems, and rapid response units in every state. The ADC’s focus will be to stop attacks before they happen, not merely respond after tragedy strikes.

Last night, the President was hosted to a sumptious banquet in the UK while over 50 people were killed in the last few days. Had the President gone to seek help from an ally, that would have been bearable. But to sit & feast on the graves of your citizens, that is unforgivable.

RENO OMOKRI & FEMI FANI-KAYODE: A TALE OF TWO SHAMELESS FRIENDS... I was going to ignore these two perpetual agents of perfidy but later decided to respond to them just in case they think they could bully me into 🔕 silence and submission. No. They can't. They both have no credibility whatsoever. Together, they've expressed the worst views ever about BOLA TINUBU that they will never be able to erase, or clean up, in a million years, except the world finally comes to an end. The only reason I could adduce for Tinubu's tolerance of both irritants is desperation and his inability to find better people to do the dirty jobs. The brains of these ones have been configured to say anything and delete immediately. I have never disparaged TINUBU in my life. I have never called him a murderer. I have never called him a drug baron or addict. I'm intelligent enough, not to say what I have no proof of. Only morons talk without thinking. I thank God for good upbringing. I do not fight like pigs. And I have a job and manage my modest income. I'm not seeking government appoints. I know how many times Femi and Reno have reached out to me, privately, either begging for publicity or apologizing for attacking me publicly. All I have accused Tinubu of is DICTATORSHIP and I stand by it with my full chest. I oppose tyranny because I once suffered under it. Chief Moshood Abiola won an election but dictatorship deprived him of his victory. Why should we replace military dictators with civilian slavemasters. That's my only grouse against TINUBU. Because of our past association, I have been partial and generous to him by not being as critical of him as I did to his predecessors. Because of TINUBU, I stopped writing my PENDULUM column on the backpge of Thisday and The Boss newspapers. Also, out of respect for Yoruba elder statesmen, including retired Generals who pleaded that we give him time to stabilize. They are alive to bear me witness. How Femi and Reno can continue to harass people on behalf of a TINUBU they've permanently damaged and sent to the cleaners really baffles me. But this is Nigeria... - AARE BASORUN AKINROGUN DELE MOMODU

The African Democratic Congress demands the immediate release of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, or his immediate arraignment in a court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing more. Nothing less. If this is the democratic character of a government that is seeking another mandate from the Nigerian people, then Nigerians must ask themselves, what becomes of the rule of law and human rights when the Tinubu government no longer needs their votes? This a stain on the conscience of our democracy and a dangerous descent into lawlessness by the Bola Tinubu-led government. Freedom is not a privilege that is granted at the pleasure of the executive branch. It is a right that is guaranteed by the Constitution. If President Bola Tinubu intends to govern as though the Constitution is optional, then he owes Nigerians the honesty to say so openly. He must declare, without pretence, that the rules of democracy no longer apply. And if that is the path that he chooses, then Nigerians, citizens, institutions, the international community, and the opposition, will know that what stands before us is not democracy, but a dictatorship in disguise. But if President Tinubu still claims allegiance to the rule of law, then we challenge him to prove it in action. In this regard, the ADC therefore demands the immediate and unconditional compliance of all relevant state actors with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This includes the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the leadership of the ICPC, and all agencies involved in this matter. It is a profound irony, and indeed a shame, that a president who once stood as a self-proclaimed democrat, who claimed to have fought alongside NADECO against military dictatorship, now presides over actions that mirror the very abuses that NADECO resisted.

@Orpeyemiii @_Dejii The irony is in you expecting Nigerians to commend a govt that pas & negotiates with bandits who in turn use the same ransom money to re-arm & kill more Nigerians. Btw, Are you aware that 15 people were killed in katsina yesterday by bandits who had a peace deal with the govt?

Statement on the Detention of Nasir El-Rufai @elrufai Many of us disagreed strongly with the actions of Nasir El-Rufai when he was governor. But let us be clear about something: justice cannot depend on who we like or who we dislike. A government that claims to believe in democracy must also believe in the rule of law. If there is evidence against El-Rufai, then the proper thing to do is simple: charge him to court. Present the evidence before a competent court of law. Let the law take its course. What is unacceptable in a democratic society, is holding a citizen indefinitely without trial. That is not justice. That is not accountability. That begins to look like persecution. Every Nigerian, no matter how powerful or unpopular, has the right to a fair hearing. That right is not a favour from the government. It is a constitutional guarantee. If El-Rufai committed crimes, then prosecute him. Nigerians will support that. But what we must never support is a system where the government can detain anyone endlessly simply because it can. Today it may be El-Rufai. Tomorrow it could be anyone else who speaks or acts in a way that those in power do not like. A democracy must be better than that. So the message is simple: charge him to court or release him. Let justice be done openly, lawfully, and transparently. That is the only way a nation that claims to respect the rule of law should act. I am very sad at the latest terrorist attacks in Borno State and the resurfacing of suicide bombing that were hitherto defeated. The increased waves of killing of soldiers and civilians by terrorists is reviving sad memories of 2014 when Boko Haram was most active in the country. While I commend the sacrifices of our servicemen in the conduct of unconventional warfare, the Tinubu administration should review its strategies. The resurgence of terrorism is capable of eroding public confidence in the ability of the government to protect its own citizens. Nigerians are not impressed with the government’s statements condemning terrorist attacks. They are more concerned about results. Results speak louder than the tough government’s rhetorics. The Tinubu government appears to be more obsessed with crushing opposition politicians than it is with fixing the worsening security challenges. And it is obvious that despite the marching orders, the terrorists are still on the offensive. Terrorists don’t know the difference between APC supporters and opposition sympathisers and it’s therefore unhelpful to dismiss honest advice as politically motivated. A government that is too heavily invested in the 2027 reelection campaign is unlikely to accept the reality of insecurity and attack those who dare talk about the gaps. A mother in Maiduguri is not asking for press releases. She is asking why her child was blown apart in a place the government claimed was “liberated.” Our soldiers are dying with outdated equipment while the President is on a state visit to Britain, while body parts are being gathered in Borno. We urge His Majesty the King, @RoyalFamily, to know that his guest left behind fresh graves and weeping widows to come and smile for the cameras. Bola Tinubu claims he sent “marching orders.” The terrorists sent suicide bombers. Nigerians can see who is winning. A government that treats funerals as routine and criticism as treason has lost the moral authority to lead. You cannot campaign for 2027 on the graves of the people you failed to protect in 2026. -AA
