I have two clear messages: First, to the United States & Israel: It’s high time to end this war that is risking to get out of control, causing immense suffering on civilians, with dramatic effects on the global economy & potentially tragic consequences, especially for the least developed countries. Second, my message to Iran: Stop attacking your neighbors, they were never parties to the conflict. The Security Council has condemned these attacks, has ordered them to stop, as it has order to open the Strait of Hormuz. The prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz causes enormous pain for so many people around the world who have nothing to do with this conflict. The details brought forward by Jemima Goldsmith are not only alarming but also serve as clear evidence that the current government has failed to uphold even the most basic human values and family rights. Despite the official processing time being stated as 7 to 10 days, the visa has not been issued for over two months. This deliberate delay appears to be a tactic driven purely by political victimization. Such treatment is being meted out to a person who has served as the former Prime Minister of the country. Even more concerning is the fact that not only are his sons being denied entry into Pakistan, but they are also being deprived of the ability to communicate with their father through phone calls or letters. Such actions are in direct violation of the principles of any civilized society. It is astonishing that the Information Minister of the government formed through “Form 47” claims that Imran Khan’s sons can enter Pakistan on the basis of holding NICOPs. The reality is that both sons had formally applied for the renewal of their NICOPs a considerable time ago, yet no decision or response has been provided to date. After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. Iran has allowed the first oil tanker to pass through the Strait of Hormuz after the shipment was paid for in Chinese yuan. The ‘Karachi’ oil tanker, an Aframax-class vessel carrying Das crude from Abu Dhabi, crossed the Strait of Hormuz safely with its AIS (Automatic Identification System) activated. It is the first non-Iranian oil tanker to do so today without any incident, and it is on its way to Pakistan.
