My wife told me: “Cody, most people are not on a truth-quest. Most people are on a happiness quest.” She is right. Most men are not asking, “What does this mean, and is it true?” Instead, they are asking, “Are you on my side? Is this going to help me win?” That is important too. The whole purpose of thought is action. The whole purpose of deciding what is true is so we can win. But a lot of men start thinking about winning in a way that forgets the question of what is true. If they follow that path too long, they will end up elevating thesis over truth and operational success over integrity.
