This is exactly why real financial planning is taking off. Its more important than ever. Index Universal Life (IUL) products are one of the most predatory “strategies” being sold to unsuspecting families today (and has been happening for decades) - disguised as retirement plans or tax-free wealth hacks. They’re not. They’re insurance policies dressed up as investments. Most are sold by commission-based salesmen, not fiduciary advisors. The “market upside, no downside” pitch is marketing BS - your returns are capped, fees are hidden, and projections are wildly unrealistic. The agent gets paid upfront. You take on the long-term risk. I’ve reviewed dozens of these cases over the years - families sinking $1,000+ per month into policies that won’t break even for 20+ years (if ever). Meanwhile, the salesman pockets a five-figure commission in year one. This industry needs a spotlight on it. Bad actors hide behind insurance licenses, preying on emotion and trust while calling it “financial planning.” It’s not planning. It’s exploitation. They sit there and try to say "What if something happened to you? What would happen to your family?" If someone ever pitches you a “tax-free retirement plan” or “family bank” that sounds too good to be true… it is. Work with real fiduciaries. Ask questions. Demand transparency. Your family’s future deserves better.

We’ve always tried to take the hardest chapters of our life — infertility, loss, setbacks — and use them for good. Today is one of those moments. We are sounding the alarm on a hidden insurance scam involving policies being sold by Pacific Life and other insurance carriers. These are being pitched as “smart retirement planning” or a way to “set up your children’s future,” but too many families are being misled and left with devastating financial loss. And it’s not just public figures — it’s everyday hardworking Americans who trusted the system and are now left with little to no way to recover what was taken. We’re sharing our experience so others don’t have to go through this without warning. We were mislead. If you’ve been approached with a “no-risk” retirement plan tied to an index universal life product (IUL)…. RUN! Your future matters. Your family’s security matters. You deserve transparency.
