It is @UniMelb Open Day today! It is great to welcome so many students to our campus and hear their keen interest in studying Engineering @FEITUniMelb. Thanks to our volunteers as well who engaged with our visitors!

It is with great pleasure that we launched the multidisciplinary Australian Centre for Offshore Wind Energy (ACOWE) @UniMelb. This collaborative initiative aims to advance research, teaching and training to support the fast growing #OffshoreWind sector in Australia.

It took me a 26-hour long flight from Melbourne to visit Mason and his team at Toronto. It is great to check out their Calibration Chamber and other toys in the lab!

Check out our new @ComGeotechnics paper led by @ANAMITRA22 on numerical modelling of cyclic response of suction buckets in sand using Sanisand-MS. Interesting insights are obtained on the effect of cyclic load sequence and sand density on the settlement of the bucket!

It is a great pleasure to welcome the Spinifex team to @UniMelb and @FEITUniMelb. I look forward to working together with Spinifex to support their exciting offshore wind development in Australia!

Congratulations to our @FEITUniMelb PhD student, Debiprasad Bhakta, who received the prestigious Maitri Scholarship in Parramatta, Sydney today. Debiprasad will be developing novel numerical techniques to model installation of offshore wind foundations in sand @ANAMITRA22.

Our @FEITUniMelb students are very lucky to learn from our two experienced industry guest lecturers in our very first geology field trip for ENEN20002 Earth Processes for Engineering! It is really useful to see how theory is applied in practice!

It is a great pleasure to welcome the @CorioGeneration team to @FEITUniMelb. We had a fruitful discussion on how we could work together to support the burgeoning offshore wind sector in Australia. I look forward to our long term partnership!

Last stop at KU Leuven main campus before the long flight back to Melbourne. Time to say goodbye to Stijn and George and it has been a fruitful 2 weeks catching up with many colleagues!

Third stop at Delft visiting Stefano @tudelft and Anderson @Deltares. It is a joy listening to talented students sharing their works and visiting the geotechnical centrifuges at the two institutions!

Thanks to the @engunimelb travel fellowship, I am able to visit various collaborators and labs in Europe. After visiting KU Leuven Brugge, my 2nd stop is to visit Joren at the Flemish Government Geotech Lab in Ghent. It is certainly interesting to learn about the Boom clay!

It is great to finally meet f2f our @UniMelb - KU Leuven joint PhD students, Olgu and Nazish at the Brugge campus. I also enjoy the discussion with our Leuven collaborators, George and Stijn and the beautiful Brugge city!

It is a wrap for the 2023 AGS VIC Symposium: Novel Solutions in Geotechnical Engineering! We are very pleased to welcome our geotechnical community and hope everyone enjoy the presentations at the fantastic venue. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful sponsors and volunteers!

Well done to the Victoria Offshore Wind (VOW) student team for the successful first Offshorewind4kids beach demo in Melbourne! We have such a great weather today and the families had so much fun learning about #OffshoreWind!

A 3-day extravaganza at the #OSIG2023 conference where the offshore geotech community comes together every 4 years in London! It is great to catch-up with many colleagues, not to mention the conference dinner at the awesome Natural History Museum!

I look forward to working together with Ørsted to contribute towards unlocking #offshorewind energy in Australia!
