At the 2025 Advanced Oculofacial Surgery Course at SEI, led by Don O. Kikkawa, MD, SEI alumnus Karim G. Punja, MD met Pavla Ivaniuta, MD of Kyiv, now a humanitarian fellow in oculofacial plastic surgery at the University of Calgary. Both returned to SEI for the 2026 course.
