at the hadestown screening tonight there were two people who walked out the theater right after the wait for me reprise and I really was just cracking tf up because they really said this shit can’t end in tragedy if we leave before it does and I respect that lmfao

Hadestown is awesome bc they know you know they know you know Orpheus will look back at the end so they hit you sideways with the metacommentary on the cyclical nature of myth and theatre performance, endlessly repeated and reinterpreted and retold. Just to keep you on your toes.
