The PMA had a prominent presence at this forum through its Ambassador and Consul General in Singapore, H.E. Sebastián Breton Pérez, who served as a panelist in a session focused on the future of the industry, addressing key issues such as decarbonization and digitalization.

On April 22, Singapore became the epicenter of the maritime sector with the hosting of the ASA Shipping Dialogue 2026. Under the theme “Asia in Action: Delivering on Shipping’s Shared Ambition,” industry leaders and policymakers gathered to chart a roadmap for regional shipping.

Ramón Franco, head of the Ship Registry, recently led a series of strategic visits to Tokyo, Japan. This mission included representatives from the Panamanian Embassy in Japan, led by H.E. Walter Cohen, and the SEGUMAR technical office in Tokyo.

During the visit, the team took the opportunity to thank them for the excellent work performed in maintaining their Panamanian-flagged fleet, which reaffirms both organizations’ commitment to the highest quality standards and the registry’s global recognition.

On April 15, 2026, the SEGUMAR London team held an in-person meeting with the operator MOL Global Ship Management. at its headquarters. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the international office’s presence and update the company on new guidelines from headquarters.

Today, at SeaTrade Cruise Global 2026, representatives from the PMA, met with representatives from RINA, ABS, and Bureau Veritas to strengthen communication and continue building a collaborative strategy focused on prevention and improving the performance of our fleet.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers from Hiroshima Bank, ClassNK, Gard P&I Japan, and SEGUMAR Imabari, and brought together more than 45 companies from western Japan, further strengthening the relationship between the Panama Ship Registry and key partners in the region.
