We are proud of the outstanding performance of our Proteas Women in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Final 2025. The Proteas waged a heroic campaign to go into the Final against India as the first South African team across genders to reach an ICC World Cup final. On behalf of our proud nation, I offer our warm congratulations to the team led by Laura Wolvaardt as well as the coaching staff and leadership of Cricket South Africa. Your performances throughout the tournament brought our nation together in pride and celebration, and the inspiration of what girls and women can be and achieve in our country. The growth in the women’s game - on the field and in the stands in South Africa - shows what we can achieve through all dimensions of transformation, including remuneration and recognition.
