Civic sense dies every day in traffic. On the stretch from Manali to Atal Tunnel, long queues mean nothing to some. Maybe it’s time we stop ignoring— note plates, report violators. Same rule for all—break it, and deal with the consequences.

Middle Class India of the 80s. This relates to all of us For those who grew up during the 80s in middle class India , here are some things that you can identify with…… 1. Though you may not publicly own to this, at the age of 12-17 years, you were very proud of your first "Bellbottom" or your first "Maxi" . 2. Phantom & Mandrake were your only true heroes. The brainy ones read "Competition Success Review". 3. Your "Camlin" geometry box & Natraj/Flora pencil was your prized possessions. 4. The only "Holidays" you took were to go to your grandparents' or your cousins' houses. 5. Ice-cream meant only - either an orange stick, a vanilla stick – or a Choco Bar if you were better off than most. 6. You gave your neighbour’s phone number to others with a ‘c/o’ written against it because you had booked yours only 7 years ago and were still waiting for your number to come. 7. Your parents were proud owners of HMT watches. You "earned" yours after SSC exams. 8. You have been to "Jumbo Circus"; have held your breath while the pretty young thing in the glittery skirt did acrobatics, quite enjoyed the elephants hitting football, the motorcyclist vrooming in the "Maut - ka - Gola" and it was politically okay to laugh your guts out at dwarfs hitting each others bottoms! 9.. You have at least once heard "Hawa Mahal" and "Binaca Geetmala" on the radio. 10. If you had a TV, it was normal to expect the neighbourhood to gather around to watch the Chitrahaar or the Sunday movie. If you didn't have a TV, you just went to a house that did. It mattered little if you knew the owners or not. 11. Sometimes the owners of these TVs got very creative and got a bi or even a tri-coloured anti-glare screen which they attached with two side clips onto their Weston TVs. That confused the hell out of you! 12. Black & White TVs weren't so bad after all because cricket was played in whites. 13. You thought your Dad rocked because you got your own (the family's; not your own own!) colour TV when the Asian Games started. Everyone else got the same idea as well and ever since, no one came over to your house and you didn't go to anyone else's. 14. You dreaded the death of any political leader because of the mourning they would announce on the TV. After all how much " Shashtriya Sangeet " can a kid take? Salma Sultana also didn't smile during the mourning. 15. You knew that " Indira Gandhi " was somebody really powerful and terribly important. And that's all you needed to know. 16. The only "Gadgets" in the house were the TV, the Fridge and possibly a mixer. 17. Movies meant Rajesh Khanna or Amitabh Bachchan. Before the start of the movie you always had to watch the obligatory "Newsreel". 18. You thought you were so rocking because you knew almost all the songs of Abba and Boney M. 19. Your hormones went crazy when you heard “Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Jindagi Mein Aaye” by Nazia Hassan . 20. Photograph taking was a big thing. You were lucky if your family owned a camera. A reel of 36 exposures was valuable hence it justified the half hour preparation & "setting" & the "posing" for each picture. Therefore, you have at least one family picture where everyone is holding their breath and standing at attention! And we were really happy then.... Have a happy walk down the memory lane.. Cheers 🎸🎸🎵🙏🙏

Completely cut off from the chaos no big cities around, just pure tranquility. A place where peace meets the true essence of architecture. Still hidden from the masses, untouched and unaware to most. I won’t name it, or I’ll get blamed for bringing the crowd but trust me, it’s one of India’s finest gems! 🫶🏻💯

A great sketch can nail a concept so well, it becomes the final word. Since 1998, nobody has had to say or write another word about boorish, drunken British people in Indian restaurants, because Goodness Gracious Me's "Going For an English" was a literally unimprovable statement.

Try grilling seekh kebabs over a woodfire trust me, the flavor is unbeatable! Especially on a chilly night in Chandigarh with a few drinks and good company to chat with. And yes, next time you’re in Chandigarh, let me know I’ll take you to the spot where we cook them ourselves! 🔥

A winter walk along the frontiers of the LAC One winter, young & full of excitement, I set out to walk the 80 km stretch between Lukung - Tsaga La. The first half of it, was along the frozen Pangong Tso with the nomads. What I experienced blew me away & made me come for more.

Five days after my post goes viral, a LinkedIn “Life Coach” (Deepti Jandial) posts identical content. On the left - my post. On the right - Life Coach! I ask her about it - she says "pure coincidence"! "Same words?", I ask further. She deletes my comment, and blocks me. How should this be handled? Option 1: Move on. Accept that 'second bhatura' is proof that life is unfair - and so is LinkedIn! Option 2: Report it. Is there a third option?

Absolutely love these pictures! Sadly, in India, we’re only obsessed with cricket while motorsports continues to be neglected even by the government, with no real support. I truly wish we had at least one politician passionate about motorsport; the entire scenario would’ve been so different. The only man who truly showed Indians what motorsport is was Vijay Mallya @TheVijayMallya . I really hope someone revives motorsport in India! Udaipur views with such cars can steal hearts! I recently spoke with someone working to bring WRC to Leh, India. Hopefully, that dream turns into reality someday! @PMOIndia @mansukhmandviya

Recently saw an article for chandigarh metro " the delay , the red tape and rising traffic /cost" And then a report in Hindu from Bengaluru about metro . For chandigarh Is metro the way forward for the tri-city? Metro Makes the Difference In Bengaluru, the Yellow Line of Namma Metro has already cut peak-hour congestion by 37.5% and reduced overall traffic pressure by 30.6%, as per Bengaluru Traffic Police data reviewed by The Hindu. This is real, measurable impact — less congestion, smoother commutes, and relief even for smaller roads. Now look at Chandigarh–Tricity: Our Metro project has been hanging in limbo for over a decade. Cost has already escalated from ₹23,000 crore to ₹25,000 crore, and may touch ₹30,000 crore if approvals drag further. Every delay is not just hurting our pockets, but also denying citizens the very relief from congestion that cities like Bengaluru are beginning to enjoy. If metros can transform Bengaluru’s traffic in just weeks, imagine what timely execution could mean for Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. The question is: how long will we let indecision and red tape hold the Tricity back? #ChandigarhMetro #UrbanMobility #PublicTransport #Accountability @ChandigarhSmart @dc_chd @ShivrattanDhil1
