@radioralo They have been chasing the peak of axie ever since the shift to origins. Reality is, whatever they had, is not coming back as the circumstances have changed. But looks like instead of realizing it and building on the solid foundations they have, they would rather endlessly pivot.

They discontinued V2 and forced everyone to play Origins. Over 50% of the community said: 'Bro, V2 is amazing.' They didn't seem to care, shoved Origins down our throats. Origins hasn't seen a bug fix's or decent balance changes in four eras as of now. You wonder why? Because they're producing an MMO... So they "DONT HAVE RESOURCES TO ALLOCATE" What stops Sky Mavis from slowly letting the MMO die in 5 years, just to make us play Axie VR in 10 years? Why would I invest in the game or the company if every 2 years they abandon everything we've fought for, leaving every player underwater (money reference)? Why would I play Axie MMO over any Web2 MMO? Surely it's not for economics or 'ownership'...RIGHT? Why would I trust a project that in 4 years abandoned 2 games with over $186 million in mkt volume? (their revenue according to grok is over 8 million in fees) Don't you wonder where YGG is? Why would Gabush and YGG leave if Axie is so good? Didn't they own tons of AXS and believe that Sky Mavis was the top-tier company for gaming? Yeah, they shifted to Abstract... I wonder why... Yeah, I'm closing doors with this post. I couldn't care less. Man up, boys. What are you doing? Is anyone actually asking good questions? Or are you only focused on good answers?"

For example, I want to play Axie at a competitive level, and I have a lot of almost meta Axies that worked before because nobody had a perfect team of every single meta. If I play I will be overpassed by high level collectible Axies that can literally be whatever they want, my 2000 axies wallet is worthless. So I won't play the game. Another more casual gamer, that is not focused on the bounty board and want to play the game because it is pp, that player may (some will not, but many will) play the game to try to play competitive, and is a logical conclusion for a player that don't just want to drain liquidity via bounty board or similar, he then will see that once he turned his Axies at a competitive level, he will be overpassed always by collectibles, so he won't play. At the same time, you cannot even buy affordable collectibles, because those collectibles are a) extremely expensive b) even being expensive, usually are low level, so you need not just money, also time, and just spending the money without spending any time and without risking, you can get more just by a LP or staking tokens, so the cost of opportunity of playing the game competitively is extremely expensive so it is just for a nich of people's (if you don't already have collectibles) with a lot of money AND also time.

Now, years later, the result seems pretty clear. Sad but nothing unexpected.

Thank you to the WF community members who have been incredibly helpful in guiding me 😊 The game has huge potential and is easy to play on mobile! I would have loved to climb even higher, but the matchmaking rating system could use some tuning at the higher ranks ⚙️ Overall, I had a great experience playing the game 🙂 I'll do some more research and consider playing next season as well 👀
