dragon ball ✅ had so much fun reading this, what a ride. the pioneer of battle shonen and you can absolutely see why; electric fights, hysterical humour, incredibly clean panels and a certain charm that shines out of this manga unlike anything else i’ve seen in a while. the cast is unbelievable, goku, vegeta, gohan, piccolo, trunks damn i could go on forever. definitely one of my favourites in manga, the dynamics between so many different characters are handled so well and make the story even better. the fights are the icing on the cake for this manga. damn just wow, some of the best i’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing. akira toriyama’s unbelievable panelling truly brings the action flying straight off the page, every battle feels like a full blown spectacle. overall, just an absolute privilege to read and truly one of the greatest manga of all time 9.5/10

I finally opened the Dragon Ball 40th anniversary set and got to see the volume featuring my cover illustration.
When my editor at Grand Jump heard that I couldn’t bring myself to open my copy, they went out of their way to find another box set and gifted it to me.
Oh my god! Thank you so much!
Now I have two of these precious box sets.
