@ross_prager Yes, but... medica school and residency and some fellowships, can be unforgivingly hard. So, it is ok to give yourself a break if you can't be happy during stretches of this time

(9/10) Medical school (and residency) are marathons - don't delay living your life until they finish.
This is a big one. Don't justify unhealthy lifestyles, unhappiness, or complete imbalance in your life simply because "once I'm done medical school it gets better".
The truth is, the skills you develop to balance your life (in medical school and residency) set you up for a happy, prosperous, and meaningful career.
For many of us, we spent our 20s and early 30s in training. If you aren't finding joy along the way, this probably warrants some reflection.
