President Tinubu left Abuja for Beijing, China, on 29 August. He stopped in Dubai, UAE, and arrived in Beijing on Sunday, 1 September, for his official visit.
He started his official visit on Tuesday, September 2, with a meeting with President Xi Jinping in the Great Hall of the People.

Five Memoranda of Understanding were signed between Nigeria and China at the meeting.

On the evening of the same day, President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, hosted him at the Welcoming Banquet and Cultural Gala Performance on the eve of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.
Among the MOUs signed were the Cooperation Plan between Nigeria and China, which was to jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperation in the peaceful application of nuclear energy, and strengthening cooperation on human resource development under the Global Development Initiative.
Others were the Memorandum of Understanding on Media Exchange and Cooperation and the Memorandum of Understanding between China Media Group and the Nigerian Television Authority.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT TINUBU.....
1. The minimum wage has been raised to ₦70,000
2. Local Governments now have autonomy
3. Fuel importation reduced by 51.4%
4. The Federal Government facilitated a Nigerian carrier, Air Peace, to secure daily direct flights to London, which crashed ticket prices on that route
5. The Nigerian government facilitated with Meta to enable Nigerian content creators to monetise their content on Facebook beginning in June 2024
6. Ended passport scarcity and waiting time for passport application, renewal and collection shorted to less than two weeks
7. 2023 Electricity Bill signed into Law to end federal monopoly in the power sector and empower states and the private sector to generate, distribute and transmit power.
8. The Federal Government has initiated and begun payment of the ₦50,000 Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme to nano businesses.
9. The Federal Government has initiated and begun payment of student loans.
10. Every state in Nigeria had been getting a minimum of 45% more than they were getting under Buhari. Nasarawa gets almost 100% more and Anambra receives 70% more, whereas their wage bill has not increased.
Meanwhile, if the Federal Government has done the above, what has your state government done with the extra 45% allocation they have been receiving? Your challenge is at the local level, not the national level.

The life-changing meaning of Assalamu alaikum
By Dr. Ibraheem Dooba @dooba123
Here is how the Islamic greeting saved my friend’s life in Malaysia.
When I was doing my master's degree in psychology in Malaysia, my friend was doing his own in computer science at the same university. Unlike me, he was found of shopping and exploring the city; I preferred to walk around the campus. One day as he was about the city, he told me, he met some street urchins, young people who had become a social problem to their country. As he walked toward them, they immediately noticed him as he marched in their direction. My friend sensed trouble. His situation also didn't help. My friend is black, African and slightly built. He had read about the anti-social activities of these guys in the newspapers or heard about them from the locals on campus. Yet he continued to approach them. He knew they were going to hurt him. He assessed the situation and quickly ran the choices through his head. Should he take another route? No, that was the only route available. Should he turn back and run? That would be too obvious and may invite the bad guys to chase him. Should he show them African toughness and, at least, pretend he was ready for a fight? That would be the stupidest option. What if they called his bluff.
As he thought, he got closer. Still, he didn't know what to do. Then suddenly, he hit upon an idea. As he reached them, he turned cheerfully toward them and said "Assalamu alaikum!"
Everyone knows what that means: may the peace of Allah be upon you.
He could see them visibly changing their minds from whatever evil they intended to allowing him to pass. That greeting saved him!
When he told me the story later, he explained his rationale. "Somewhere deep in their soul," Yusuf Sani said, "I knew there was a root of faith. So I decided to use the language every Muslim understood. It means, I come in peace, please don't harm me. That surprised them. So they were left with the only way you are supposed to respond to that greeting."
My professor’s definition of Assalamu alaikum
At the same university, UPM, a professor gave us the best definition of assalamu alaikum. "Many of us trifle with that greeting," the most radical professor on campus said to us in his class.
"It is actually a contract," he continued." As your teacher, if I come into the classroom and I said Assalamu alaikum, I'm declaring to you that I will not harm you with my words or my hands. I'm declaring that you're under my protection. I will protect you against me, I will protect you against others, and indeed, I would protect you against yourself!"
The pin-drop silence that enveloped the class indicated to me that everyone - including the non Muslims - felt as I felt, completely mesmerized by the new perspective.
"So when you go home and say it to your spouse and children, that is the promise you're making," he continued. "When you meet a friend and say it, that is the declaration you're making. The greeting encapsulates everything. It also means I'm happy to be here, I care about you. How are you doing?! Unfortunately, many of us don't even look at the faces of our brothers to check if they are doing well."
I was lucky to be in the class that day, because that completely changed my understanding of Assalamu alaikum.
