Many thanks to everyone involved in the international pilot study included in this paper! Your contribution was essential for us to test its ease of use and explore airborne triazole resistance across Europe!

We foresee a broad range of applications for the method in A. fumigatus research and monitoring and hope it will benefit the research community!

Our delta trap air sampling method is now peer-reviewed and published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology! journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/ae…

Last fall, I together with @BBriggeman_ and @EvelineSnelders was able to use this method in the citizen science project @Schimmelradar to spatially sample the Dutch air with the help >400 citizen scientists. More to follow on that project at a later time ;)

With the help of many European collaborators, we were able to set up a European pilot study using this method and found that colony yields from the traps can vary significantly across the regions we sampled. With higher numbers in and near the Benelux area than most elsewhere.
