@slbsn @SomosLos_Rojos People still don’t understand VAR’s remit. It’s for clear and obvious ERRORs - neither decision was an error as they were borderline calls. Inconsistent yes, errors not really.

This is what happens when the ref has the audacity not to give United yet another borderline penalty/weak decision to an exaggerated fall. Stomping feet nonsense.

@liverpxxl9 @AndyMitten The contact was on Amad's right arm with his left side facing the ref. Did the ref have a clear view of the actual contact (both defenders arms were on Amad)? This is something else VAR should consider and send the ref to have a look himself, imo.

@AndyMitten It’s not a VAR blunder. It only intervenes for “clear and obvious errors” - the refs decisions, for both incidents, were NOT clear and obvious errors albeit they were inconsistent. Btw LOL at “wrestled”. VAR has got no chance if ya gona be a fanny about ur own club.

@sistoney67 If anything the Amad one was worse as he used two hands. Neither defender tried to play the ball - the contact on Amad is on his right side with the ref stood on the left side so he wouldn't have had a clear view of the contact. This is where VAR should be stepping in

Debate around VAR last night misses the point really. In general fans want less of it, so understandable in debatable calls, it stays out. The inconsistency is referee on-pitch. I guess he would argue Maguire was deliberately attempting to impede and Amad went down under minimal contact. Easy to see why others argue differently. Ref is the guy whose decision counts. Course if players from every club didn’t constantly maximise contact, it would be easier for refs but that is another discussion.
