My next highlighted game at the @HoopSeen Main Event was my first look at the Atlanta Kings as they took on Griffin Grasshoppers Elite (OTR). This Kings squad may not jump off the page with size, but what they lack there they more than make up for with toughness, grit, and a nonstop motor. A scrappy bunch that plays with a relentless edge and a whole lot of heart, they wasted no time setting the tone. From the opening tip, the Kings came out flying. Their defense was suffocating, swarming every passing lane and turning every possession into chaos. It wasn’t just stops either, they flipped defense into offense in a blink, pushing the pace and capitalizing before the Grasshoppers could even get set. On the other end, the ball movement was crisp and unselfish, leading to high-quality looks that they made at an efficient clip. Griffin never found a steady rhythm, constantly disrupted and forced out of sync. By halftime, the Kings had already created serious separation with a 39-22 lead, and they never let up, cruising to a dominant 66-33 win. The Kings were led by #14 @Khalib14_, who led all scorers with 16 points while adding 4 rebounds, setting the tone with confidence and control. Right behind him, #5 @showtimeblue_ brought his own scoring punch with 14 points, keeping the pressure on throughout. #1 Kevin filled up the stat sheet in a big way, finishing with 12 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals, impacting the game on both ends and making plays all over the floor. For the Grasshoppers, #3 Day fought to keep things alive, finishing with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, showing toughness despite the uphill battle. This was a statement performance from Atlanta Kings. Undersized on paper, but fearless in action, and when they play with that kind of energy, discipline, and togetherness, they are a problem for anybody in the gym.

The top standout in this one was clearly ‘27 PG David Williams for @mjjaguars. Dropped 33 points w/ 6 assists. 50, 40, 85 splits on the season while avg’n near 25 pts per game. 6’2” PG has the makings of a D1 prospect. Sturdy frame, elite shooting & speed. (@Showtimedave_)

Final: @Cghs_bb – 55 @mjjaguars – 59 David Williams completely took over in the second half, scoring 22 of his 33 total points after the break. He scored at all three levels, moved well off the ball to get open for threes, and couldn’t be stopped one-on-one or in transition. @Showtimedave_

Meet Promise Palmer (left) and David Williams (right). A small and twitchy point guard and a shooting guard with a bag. Chips and salsa man. These two paired each other so well. Promise would push the tempo on the fast break and outlet to David and it just kept coming from both of them. Promise knocked down his shots, got to the rim, active on defense, and kept his head up looking for his teammates. David was knockdown from three, was punching on the rim, and had a tight handle.
