South Cambridgeshire Council claims its four day week for staff has ‘saved’ £399k in agency staff costs. In fact, the council’s own figures show it spent *more* ⬆️on agency staff in the first two years of the four day working trial than it did in the year before the trial.

I am a Maharashtrian. I hardly ever had to speak in Hindi till graduation. Even when I was doing my PG in Hyderabad, working in Blore, Delhi or Mumbai it was mostly English we spoke. Then I worked in Chennai. Ironically, I learned to speak in Hindi in Chennai. Mainly because my team members were from the North and most of them not from Delhi and my running group were from all over the place. My weirdest experience in Chennai was when I told a Tamil Auto driver (who btw spoke good English) that I can’t speak in Hindi properly (and literal translation from Marathi to Hindi at times changes the meaning in Hindi!) so I prefer English. He lectured me the whole way that you need to learn basic Hindi as it’s the most spoken language in India. My Tamil colleague said his father hated this anti-Hindi agenda and ensured his kids learn Hindi (on a side note he is @jsaideepak fan and is a Muslim!) Whatever agenda is going around is not a ground reality - at least not to the extent they are portraying it to be… Specially now when we see the response @annamalai_k is getting! Few stupid ppl don’t represent the sentiment of whole of Southern part of Bharat! We are giving so much attention to a #justasking idiot for his ignorant stupid tweet!

Both my parents worked in healthcare growing up so the NHS's long-term success is personal to me. Meeting staff and patients today at @MKHospital reminded me of our duty to get the job done. We're backing staff to get patients the care they need quicker and cut waiting lists.
