Those who attended last night will not have been doing much typing today because our throbbing fingers are swollen to the size of bananas, too bruised and weak to get the lid off the paracetamol.

Thanks to Fiona Barnes of Wace Morgan for organising an Eton Fives taster session at Shrewsbury School yesterday evening. Fiona herself had gone down with Covid, but her valiant and endlessly patient brother Andrew coached SLS members through the rudiments of the game.

The Wrekin Wramblers completed their heroic ascent (and wobbly descent) last evening, and raised over £800 for the Access to Justice Foundation. Thanks to everyone who took part and everyone who sponsored us. Here we are in our moment of triumph with Jackie from @CABshropshire

⏳ Only one day to go before the Shropshire Legal Walk in aid of @Access2JusticeF Teams from @lanyonbowdler , @mfgsolicitors , @FBCManbyBowdler , @GHP_Legal and @PCBSolicitors are already warming up their hamstrings in preparation for the ascent.

President Gemma Hughes said: 'Over 70 years Her Majesty was a model of dedication and service. It is in this spirit that we are going ahead with the Legal Walk, while offering participants the opportunity to mark the Queen's passing with appropriate respect'.

Once all walkers have reached the summit of the Wrekin, and before we begin the descent, we will observe a minute's silence in recognition of the life and service of the late Queen.

While we remain deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, after careful consideration, we have decided that the Legal Walk in aid of the Access to Justice Foundation will go ahead on Thursday 15th September.
