This assault is nothing short of a state-sponsored terror attack that poses a grave risk of escalating into a full-scale regional conflict and triggering a global humanitarian catastrophe. It is absurd that this escalation comes barely a month after President Trump inaugurated his “Board of Peace.” This aggression only reveals that such initiatives are not tools for world order, but for wreaking havoc and bypassing international law and the United Nations. From backing the genocide in Gaza and threatening annexations elsewhere, to aggression against Venezuela and now this massive ongoing attack on Iran, the pattern of militarism is unmistakable. The attack was also reported to have targeted and hit an all-girls elementary school, where more than a hundred children were killed.
