Google Cloud decided not to convert most of their interns this year. I was one of 100+ interns who were asked to wait 3–5 months, only to be rejected later. The selection algorithm ended up first-come, first-serve. Interns with earlier joining dates & good feedback got PPOs.

@Priyansh_31Dec We interns have a WhatsApp community with multiple batch-wise groups. In these groups, we noticed a clear trend: almost everyone from the last batch and the second-last batch received “not moving forward” emails on the same day, with only two or three exceptions.

@ShubhamPuhal01 Ahh this is bad. If the decision is to not move forward, it should come as early as possible so that people can try elsewhere or at least their placement cell in college don't keep them hanging.
I am curious to know how you got to know about the selection algorithm though?

What’s worse is that the “Google intern” tag doesn’t help much in today’s job market. Many of us are struggling to even clear screening rounds.

Many interns like me chose later joining dates because of college exams, and all of us were rejected.
We pushed ourselves for three months, trying to meet every expectation without knowing that our fate was already decided the moment we chose our start date.
