Madrid was amazing. We just got back and wow! cannot wait to go back. We wanted to visit a country we had never been to before to celebrate our honeymoon so we picked Spain. We loved it so much the 3 days we were there, and filled every single day with as much as possible. 3 museums, multiple gardens/parks, a ton of metro rides, food and so much wine! Finished the trip with a by watching The Lion King play. I couldn't have asked for a better trip with my favorite person @roscoraccoon. While in Madrid we noticed how friendly people were, the food options were incredible, getting around was really easy as well. I wanted to visit a place where at least one of us could speak the language to make it a bit easier on us and for Rosco to practice his Spanish with others. We fell in love with Madrid, enough so we both said we could move there if we really wanted to leave the country. It saddens me a bit to think of potentially leaving if things get so bad, but at least there are options out there if we had to take the nuclear option. People were healthier there from what I could see, prices for food was actually really good and really fresh. A lot of this trip really made me open my eyes to how much we have been lied to about so much living in the US. Traveling is so important for us, gives us perspective on what we have and what to expect and see how others live. It also shined a light on how expensive food/restaurants and living has become here in the US. The older I get the more I think about our futures and what will happen when we are older, what our actual old age looks like. Sweden and Spain were both huge eye openers for both of us, but Spain really won us over in so many ways. If you ever have a chance to visit don't skip Madrid, I highly recommend it, my biggest regret was staying so few days, but there is always next time.
