They’re sort of dammed either way. They could significantly nerf movement and create a shallow experience that casuals may want to try but dedicated fans aren’t passionate about. Or, make a game that gears fans will love, while attempting a balancing act that offers some accessibility for casuals.. which it looks like they’re trying to do. Similar to Halo, if enough core fans love the game and consider it the best in the franchise, that positive feedback could create a strong foundation that inspires new fans. Gears will always struggle with its niche, due to its unique gameplay and arena style 4v4, focussed competitive approach - movement mechanics aside.

I Loved Gears of War EDAY, This is the first time in the last 10-12 years where I think a new player can finally pick the game up and learn it. Please give the game a try if you was ever discouraged because it was “too hard to understand”

@jammerjacks55 All of these gametypes exist in ranked arena currently, along with several others though (vacancy included), minus the 5 flags on Origin. Ranked isn't changing - Pro league starts tomorrow.

@bleeachs Bigger question is how difficult is it to punish the average bouncer. There's aspects of this movement that will take skill, but standard wall bouncing looks relatively simple imo
