Exciting news for Granville Street - The Hudson’s Bay redevelopment would add a 12-storey office building on top of the existing structure.
The historic facade will be preserved, with new retail, improved connections to transit, and a bike hub.

This makes no sense. Staff are recommending @fountainheadVAN get two separate liquor licenses and run two separate businesses next door to each other. Rather than granting the@ one license to run expanded pub by a respected operator who’ve been a long-standing community fixture.

The @CityofVancouver needs to revise its definition of a Community Amenity Contribution to include investment in large scale public events. A community is not complete if you continue to isolate everyone. Bring people together. It’s good for the soul.

This is one of the 5 conservative councillors that voted to defund libraries in the 2022 budget. Their ‘back to basics’ will cut programs that help people and siphon more money to the ineffective policing of outcomes. Police don’t house, treat or feed people.

The Mayor & majority Council’s decision not to fund police budget wasn’t due to Covid pressures. That’s spin. Mayor saw opp to chip away at police budget & took it. No other BC city did. And no, taxes don’t have to go up again because you’re not funding core responsibilities.
