People are saying that why did PM Modi pay the jhalmuri vendor in cash instead of using UPI? What happened to Digital India? Did the vendor not have the facility to accept digital payments? In reality, the jhalmuri seller did have a QR code on his shop for UPI payments. But if PM Modi had made the payment via UPI, no special memory would have remained with him. That’s why PM Modi gave him a ₹10 note from his pocket, so that the note could stay with the vendor as a memory - a reminder that the Prime Minister of India once came to his shop to eat jhalmuri.
