@MussardJonny - Maguire. ‘Slab head’. A traditional English defender who leads from the back. He oozes passion for the game.

@henry_harnack - Kante. A tireless midfielder who does the dirty work. He pulls the strings for his side - a puppeteer.

Comparing the player’s performances in today’s match to a professional footballer (past and present). (A thread):

@mvttflem - Ibrahimovic. The similarities don’t end with the schnoz. Both are towering forward figures who dominate defenders. Flem didn’t score as many as he wanted today, but just like Zlatan, you can be sure he’ll only come back stronger next time out.

@Will_A_ONeill - Antonio. When he has the ball at his feet he’s phenomenally unpredictable, which causes havoc for defenders. A hard worker who is as comfortable in defence as in attack.

@BenBreezer89 - Scott Brown. A midfield general who never hides in a 50/50 situation. He is ALWAYS up for a derby. Plays every game like it’s his last - but with the challenges he puts in its the defenders who should be worrying about a career cut short.

@matt_17_17 - Milner. One of football’s good guys. Aside from his good character, the midfield star is also a phenomenal passer, who is adept to playing in a number of positions across the pitch.

Stuebler - Matthäus. A German powerhouse of a midfielder. Don’t be fooled into thinking this man is purely a destroyer - his culmination of footballing intelligence and technique make him a fearsome force going forward.

@EwanSlade - Snodgrass. Both are Scottish wingers, who have a hell of a shot on them. They can always be trusted to put in an excellent delivery to the forward men.

@_felixharper - Monreal. A consistent performer, and a serial winner. His passion and drive for the game fuels his high energy displays.

@Kyle_Henchie_ - Bernardo Silva. A mercurial winger who is not renowned for his pace, but rather his skill. You can always back him to score, from both inside and outside of the area.
