Having to sign a lifetime non-disparagement clause to be on the new Wizards Commander panel (basically the new RC/CAG) seems super over the top. The need for independent and critical voices is going to be more important than ever if this is how Wizards sets things up.
Gavin Duggan@genomancer
Looking for input: The vendor contract for the Commander panel includes a *surviving* non-disparagement clause, which means it limits what I can say about them forever, even if the contract ends. I don't mind the NDC, but I'm uncomfortable with it in perpetuity. Thoughts?

@NakedRei Pretty sure that's how this whole social media thing works, no?

@TaliaGraceSable I have a desire to eventually just start wearing wizard robes (more in the style of Gandalf).
But the thing that sucks about being a man is men's fashion is basically just a scale of how much tuxedo/suit you're wearing. Women's fashion has so much more variety!
English

@andraporterxo Same.
Also, my dad would call that a theft-deterrent paint job!

@Typpo8 You're the second person I've seen in my timeline mentioning something along these lines, and I've definitely missed the context.

@SpencrGreenberg I think I fit into Number 2, at least by inclination.

My personality-based theory of what makes people more likely to break rules and minor laws:
1) Low conscientiousness people break more rules because they see them as pointless or irrelevant
2) High openness people break more rules because they question the assumptions behind rules (and norms) and because they question authority figures
3) High extraversion people break more rules because they enjoy thrills, take more risks and are a bit more impulsive
4) Low agreeableness people break more rules because they're less concerned about the effects of their actions on others and care less about being judged by others
5) Higher neuroticism (and emotional stability) aren't predictive of rule-breaking

@nat1advice Gotta pretend you're one of the people!
But it sounds like Pete rolled kinda low on his deception check...

@andraporterxo The Nudist community frequently talks about this kind of thing.
English

This! Kink/poly/swing/queer communities are absolutely THE biggest reason I am comfortable in my body. Not even 3 months of nut-to-butt living & showering with 40 women (boot camp) had that impact. Not Sexual Attitude Restructuring. Not feminist porn. Real, diverse people.
cozy@bimbotheory
A big part of the problem with a lot of people’s self image is that they’ve seen very few people naked. The more bodies you see the more you realize the staggering diversity of how people look, and a sharply delineated sex binary becomes real blurry real quickly.

@MaryZoso I will say that I've come to see rules-based morality as fundamentally flawed. I now see (and am working on integrating into my being) an understanding of morality built around an orientation towards love. It's hard, though, because rules-based morality is the main type we know.
English

@MaryZoso Because Goodness is loving and compassionate, it would rather see people change and be filled with goodness than see them destroyed.

What if the whole KNOWLEDGE of good and evil being the Original “Sin”™️ is actually more of a recognition of How Things Are than a condemnation? What if it’s just pointing out that we as a species ARE GOING TO BE STRUGGLING for a long time with this dualistic good/bad idea and the struggle is going to cause us all sorts of problems and suffering until we learn (on both an individual level and a species level) that there is no Good or Bad. What if the whole point is for us to learn to let go of all that stuff and come out the other side accepting ourselves and each other and all of existence as Whole and Perfect exactly as we are?
