🚆✨ Making rail more accessible 👋♿️ A great moment at Edinburgh Waverley as @networkrail welcomed @SightScotland colleagues & campaigners on their way to the Scottish Parliament. 🙌🧑‍🤝‍🧑 They were travelling for an important announcement from @scotgov @FionaHyslop, confirming that free rail travel for companions of blind and partially sighted people is here to stay. It’s a really positive step, following Sight Scotland's Fair Rail campaign, and recognises how essential companions are in helping people travel safely and confidently by rail. 👏📺 Campaigners specifically noted the warm welcome they always receive from our teams at Waverley and Glasgow Central when they travel, and from @ScotRail colleagues more widely. 👉 You can read more at lnkd.in/e9DrcYcs

This is an incredible project that benefits so many people. ✨ And, now, it’s more than a pilot. As a visually impaired person, who uses the trains on a regular basis, at least twice a week, sometimes more, this is life-changing. Thank you, @FionaHyslop and @SightScotland. 🚝

Shades aren’t just for summer. Bright winter light and long hours on screens can cause eye strain and discomfort. Simple habits like sunglasses outdoors and regular screen breaks may help with comfort. Have you tried the 20-20-20 rule? 🔗 theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2…
