Been managing a chronic illness flare-up recently. Can't really do full workflow, so I permitted some limited "nostalgia fun" and been revisiting Newgrounds. So far: Gemcraft, Necronomicon 2.0, Burrito Bison, Learn to Fly 1 & 2 and Kingdom Rush. The Last Stand & Sonny are next.

From the Luke Gygax Press Event at Gary Con (link to video in the first reply.) Luke says that the new head of D&D apologized to him twice for how his family was treated by WOTC. He got emotional while saying that he can't believe he's going to get to contribute to new official Greyhawk supplements, and that the name "Gygax," "Greyhawk," and "Dungeons & Dragons" will once again be combined in an official capacity, something that he previously thought would never happen again. When asked what he could share about what he is looking forward to bringing to the new Greyhawk products: "I love 5E for expanding the customer base, but this new fangled Dungeons & Dragons is too easy!" Wants to write alternate rules that will make Greyhawk more "Gygaxian." Wants to feature his childhood character Melf the "right way," since he was never happy with how he has been portrayed as both a character and in art. He even hated the original LJN toy, since it was originally a completely different character (Peralay from Quest for the Heartstone), and looks nothing like his own character (Melf doesn't have blond hair.) Wants adventures to be dangerous, not cakewalks, and for characters to not feel like they should be walking around in tights and a cape (superheroes.) Wants the game to incorporate more problem solving. If there is a movie he'd like David Harbour to play his dad and then when someone asked who would play him he joked "the guy who played Reacher, or uh, John Cena, yeah those guys are probably the closest," lol. I do think that Luke is a genuinely kind and good guy, and believes that this is the very best thing he can do to honor his dad's legacy, keep the family name in the ongoing pop culture consciousness, and do justice to the setting he grew up with. And for that I'm happy for him and hope that he is pleased with the results.

I washed my hands of WotC and DnD after 3.5E ended, but have kept "sight" of everything "corporate-stripping" of the property over the last 15 years. I wish the best to the Gygax family, and hope they get some "Gold" out of this "Fool's Gold" from Hasbro and WotC. 👑🎲⚔️🪙

I do not even know who this guy is, but I nearly died laughing at the perfect presentation of the "Skill Erosion" issue of AI being used for "creative" tasks. 🤣🤣👍💯

Well, it took an enormous amount of Data Classification. 📚💻🗓️ But I finally transferred all 3.5 million words worth of my instances of ChatGPT, Grok and Gemini, over the last 8 months, into personal data array storage. 💾 Local LLM Architecture Design Theorems, ftw. 👍

This actually came at the perfect time for me. World-Building is the segment of the process I only am just finishing up, after a few weeks of the pre-writing processing. Nice as this guide is, I would love to see a "Genre Variant" Collection. Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, etc. 🗺️✍️

I don't have the extra time to truly "skill acquisition" my way to genuine "digital cartography" skills. However, I REALLY want to have enough free time to at least play around with some of these tools for my campaign novelization projects. ✍️+🗺️=🤯
