This fall, Jim Giese and I worked with one of our Pebblebrook Press authors, Mark Zimmermann, to publish his latest chapbook. I did the editing, and Jim did the design. Order from Mark directly (zimmerma @msoe .edu) or buy it here: barnesandnoble.com/.../bomb.../11…

I just pre-ordered Echoes of Small Things, the latest Paper Lantern Writers anthology. Two of my clients, @CayEdie and Ana Brazil, have work in this collection. If you enjoy historical fiction, this will be worth the read. @writers_paper never disappoint! amazon.com/Echoes-Small-T…

I recently visited my friend, colleague, and student Rich Christensen. He helped me with #research for my #memoir project, but we also spent a lot of time talking about *his* memoir, which recounts the three years he spent #teaching in #Botswana.

Yes, there are tears of gratitude at the end of the video. I thought about re-recording and trying harder not to tear up, but as my friend Katie says, I'm in my F*ck-it Forties now. So f*ck it. Yes, I have some feelings. I wouldn't be #writing this #memoir if I didn't. (3/3)

People imagine #writers sitting alone in a small room typing away, and there's plenty of that—but there's also a lot that happens away from the keyboard. Truly, it takes a village, even when you're telling your own story. (2/3)

I'm not just an #editor, I'm also a #writer who is hard at work on a #memoir project. Today, I'm doing a little research and feeling grateful to all the friends who are helping me tell my story. (1/3)

And now, the fantastic humans who, in 2025, are taking a chance on an #editor and #resumewriter who is still learning, growing, and moving forward every day. Then and now, I couldn’t do this without all of you. So truly—thank you. (4/4)

One of the best things about being a #freelance #editor is that I don’t have to sit at a desk in an office with a boss dictating what I do and who I work with. Instead, I get to go outside and take walks when the weather is gorgeous. (1/4)

It turns out that we have a lot in common. We ask similar questions, share similar fears, and react to what's happening around us in similar ways. Regardless of whether you're in #publishing, this is a good read about what it means to be on the left during these turbulent times.

I get to choose projects I believe in and pass on the ones I don’t. I get to collaborate with people I like and respect while  saying “no thank you” to those I don’t. And it’s all possible because of my clients. (2/?)
