The entire world welcomes the two-week ceasefire. We need peace, not war. But it is deeply disturbing that Pakistan has played an active role in brokering the two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States. A nation, that harbours terrorists and has been on the brink of economic collapse is now a key player in global geopolitics - while India has been conspicuously absent from the scene. To dismiss this as a non-event is foolhardy and an ostrich-like denial. This is NOT nothing. We have ceded the strategic space at the world stage which has been very quickly occupied by a rogue state - Pakistan. Meanwhile, India openly and foolishly - aligned with Israel and America. We even failed to muster the moral courage to denounce the American President’s call to nuke Iran and wipe out an entire civilisation. India has been found floundering, directionless and timid in our response. In a defining moment, India chose to stand on the wrong side of history. India, has paid a price for a compromised Prime Minister who chose to be a coward when the world needed us to be brave and just. India has been let down by a man who is being blackmailed by the US and Israel. History will not forgive Narendra Modi for allowing Pakistan to play this role on the global stage - at India’s expense.
