@ZayOsirisGaming I know I'm talking hypothetically now but let's say there's a jump in players with the PVE mode for a few weeks and then they stop playing and the numbers drop back down to where they are now? Which we know isn't enough for Sony. Do they still give them a year to turn it around?

@ZayOsirisGaming That's a lot of mountains it has to climb and I honestly don't think Bungie can do it or that Sony will give them the time or money to do it. Maybe they get a year and that's assuming the PVE mode in the back half of season 2 is good and not only grows the playerbase but keeps it

I’d like to have an open discussion on a much deeper level — when it comes to people’s opinion, on Marathon. Are you, as a dedicated player of Destiny going to commit yourself to playing Marathon — the same way you’ve committed yourself to played Destiny over the last 10+ years?

@Muffin_Bandit_ They currently value Bungie at around 2.5-3 million. Does anybody really, truly believe that Marathon is worth that? Destiny used to be worth that. But there is no more Destiny 2 and there's no Destiny 3 planned or anything else Destiny related in the pipeline.

@Muffin_Bandit_ want to support this company anymore? And that's just talking about Bungie yet alone Sony. Whose to say if the PVE mode doesn't bring in massive numbers they don't just say fuck it Bungie are done, we aren't spending any more money and resources on them.

Creators need to understand the influence they have. I too am pissed and sad about the entire D2 situation but the frustration you put out is amplified to an unhealthy level through your audience. These are Marathon developer's jobs you're playing with. It's not their fault.

@SilentWraith87 @LetsTalkRhodey Except in this case Robin's arc with Two-Face was already complete since he had him at his mercy and chose to not kill him.

I always saw this scene as to why. He knows Dicks going down the same path he was/is on. By the end, they're partners. Robin tells him "I can't promise, I won't kill Two-Face" So Batman kills Two-Face to ensure that doesn't happen.

@TheTrueVanguard Doesn't exactly have the same weight or confidence in the brand as it used to and that is all down to Bungie and their management. All of that plays a factor in their current situation.

@TheTrueVanguard but Marathon wasn't exactly in a great spot before that and that if you ignore the stolen art, the lawsuits and everything else over the last few years that tanked Bungie's reputation. That's a big part of their problems too. "From the studio that brought you Halo and Destiny"

Idk, actively campaigning against a game out of spite seems really childish to me. I’m not trying to force anyone to play or like Marathon. But it is actually a really good game and I’d hate for the people who DO love it to end up having their game struggle just because negative sentiment is so strong among the people who aren’t engaged with it. Both things can be true at once. You can be gutted that Destiny is ending. And you can just quietly not be interested in Marathon too. You can campaign in favor of Destiny’s future and I’m 100% with you in that effort. And you can also not add fuel to the flames when it comes to campaigning against Marathon.
