New Zealand athletics governing body has declared that transgender people should be able to play in sports and be given full inclusion. This wonderful policy is what we need to see at the state level in every state - its not enough to not ban trans people, we must protect them.

@ErinInTheMorn I dont usualy comment on issues like this but it would appear that for the minority that will benefit from this, the majority will be fucked over by the unfairness of this policy change. Sport will never again be seen as an even playing field. 😔

@ErinInTheMorn So much panic & misinterpretation over this just like with the 2021 IOC Framework. The NZ policy is not a self id policy for a single sport. This policy is merely a set of 6 non binding guiding principles that sports can follow to create their own specific participation policies.

@ErinInTheMorn of course they can play. No one ever said “no trans in sports”. the issue is fairness, so yes trans women (biological males) should play in male sports otherwise it’s an unfair advantage. you want trans men to play in male sports? sure! but they will be at a huge disadvantage.

@tinajd187 @anonononous @FreeRuralCO @ErinInTheMorn I guess you know nothing about sports. Men will still have more bone density, stronger cardiovascular system, and more fast twitch muscle fibers. These are all massive advantages. Musclemass are only one of several factors.
