Size of her pupils, she had a day. Light sedation at the vet to get her ears cleaned, she had a lot of earwax buildup in one of her ears :( she has been my shadow since she got home and wants lots of sympathy

@TheMarshyBear @Cinderellimouse it is so, but linguists also follow the official grammatical rules of the language, so one of the reasons this feature is special is that for some we are going outside the official rules =)

Veronica's explanation about all the linguistic/translation challenges in regards to pronouns is so interesting and complex.

@Cinderellimouse @TheMarshyBear yeah definitely, that is why languages are hard at work to make this feature because for us using "it" to a person is not the right call.

@SimGuruRusskii @TheMarshyBear Sorry if this is a weird question to ask... So in certain languages 'it' would be derogatory? Like it would be in English to refer to someone as a thing?

@Cinderellimouse @TheMarshyBear the "it" pronouns is part of the reason we didn't really get to explore this feature before, localization wise there are some languages that have this issue. But i think nowadays things are better for exploring the solutions since now it is more diverse.

@Cinderellimouse @TheMarshyBear In Polish a friend of mine says that in some less official terms, people use a term derived from a sci fi book that is famous (i have to remember the name) so they have seen it used in D & D campaigns and conversation. But yes, Polish has no neutral.
