@tylermilliken_ Cora’s toast and uninterested, but that’s only gonna change things for a week or two - the whole organization is shot…..from Henry on down.
@Jared_Carrabis Everyone needs to take a chill pill , we’re 9 games in . The pitching will get much better , the bigger problem is we’re swinging at everything and striking out way too much . 153 games to go , relax
@tylermilliken_ Breslow and Henry are touched in a certain way.
One’s a weirdo recluse and the other one’s an Ivy League clone bot who is viewed upon other GM’s in the league as someone to avoid doing business with. The future is bright.
Craig Breslow on the Red Sox slow start and what's been going wrong for offense:
"This is a really good team that isn't playing very well right now, and that is going to turn. Our job is to do everything we possibly can to try and accelerate that."
@Jared_Carrabis This is what Henry and Breslow built - this is what they deserve. I’m enjoying this. The more they lose the more irrelevant this team becomes. You get what you pay for (Henry) and in some cases HOW (Breslow) you spend your money.
@LouMerloni Love ya Lou, Buona Pasqua. Hopefully Ferris Bueller leaves a couple of meatballs out there for this hitting starved bunch to feast on. And tell AC to drop Trevor where he belongs…..in the 6 hole.
If Marcelo Mayer even looks slightly comfortable against lefties on a regular basis, let him eat every day. At least until Romy Gonzalez is back. That will also open up a lot of convos defensively.
@tylermilliken_ Cora’s done a nice job constructing this lineup, especially with MVP candidate Story in the 2 hole. Cora also seems more engaged and energetic than ever before.
Today’s lineup for Padres @ Red Sox:
1. Roman Anthony DH
2. Trevor Story SS
3. Jarren Duran CF
4. Willson Contreras 1B
5. Wilyer Abreu RF
6. Masa Yoshida LF
7. Caleb Durbin 3B
8. Marcelo Mayer 2B
9. Carlos Narváez C
Walker Buehler vs. Ranger Suarez. 1:35 first pitch on NESN.
Some great news on Triston Casas: He will start his swinging progression on Monday. The soreness isn’t as severe as they feared, per @jcmccaffrey.
While there isn’t a role for Casas right now, he’s very important depth at 1B for Contreras, who’s had his fair share of injuries.
@tylermilliken_ You gotta love the way Breslow designed this team. GM of the year candidate. Nobody can hit home runs, but that’s not important - run prevention is.
Frustrating to lose these games where the pitching staff handles business. Especially when Early didn’t have his best stuff and was able to tread water.
Credit to the bullpen for keeping you in it, even if Chapman leaked at the end.
You didn’t rack up the strikeouts offensively, but you had opportunities in the 4th and 5th to do more damage. Bats just need to be better. Especially Story in the #2 spot.
@tylermilliken_ Story doesn’t strike out enough. The fact that he’s the number two hitter is all you need to know about this lineup. Pathetic……he’s a number 6 hitter at best…..
Justin Gonzales can’t stop lifting the ball. Back to back days going deep to start the season. If this sticks, his prospect status is about to skyrocket 🚀
Worst Red Sox team of my lifetime. There is not a human in the world I hate more than Craig Breslow. I will celebrate his firing in August like a World Series title. Thanks Bres, you fucking stiff
NESN broadcasts of Red Sox games have become unwatchable. The game itself is secondary to all the nonsense interviews and promotions and fundraising. Unwatchable.
@hiddenregions Having to endure Dave O’Brien, one of the worst and most insufferable blowhards on the planet, who never shuts the fuck up, doesn’t help either.
