@northumbriana @SJFCrownPosada Fascinating pic @northumbriana. The @SimlaRestaurant reopened in 2016 after a hiatus, still within the same family since 1981. The building now is from 1892 and is titled Bentham Buildings.

Still on the Side, but down the hill and under the railway bridge. This building stood where the Simla restaurant is now (a few doors up from the @SJFCrownPosada)

The street called 'The Side' in Newcastle in 1900. Cuthbert Collingwood was born in a house on that corner in 1748.

@turnipheadpic The @SimlaRestaurant has re-opened! It has undergone a transformation and re-opened in September 2016. Completely refreshed but within the same family since 1981. Hope you're able to visit us and try it out.
