@TeleCricket @NHoultCricket Brendan You're a parasite on English cricket. Two million quid for doing nothing -not surprising you don't want to leave -at the moment I will support any one against England whilst you are in charge

@FGRFC_Official All I can say to the muppet supporters of FGR is how would you feel if your previous manager took five of your first team players . Macclesfield have history and have won more leagues and cups than you can dream of -and we didn't need a rich owner to do it

Macclesfield FC can confirm that the Club have received a formal offer from Forest Green Rovers which meets the release clause in D’Mani Mellor’s contract. D’Mani has been an outstanding asset to Macclesfield Football Club both on and off the pitch. Since arriving, he has consistently demonstrated the professionalism, work ethic and character that we expect from players representing this Club. His contribution in terms of goals and creativity on the pitch and character in the dressing room has been significant. He has also built a strong connections with our supporters and the wider Macclesfield community, for which we are incredibly grateful. While no deal has yet been finalised, the activation of the release clause means discussions are now taking place between D’Mani and Forest Green regarding the next steps. Should the transfer go ahead, D’Mani will leave with our sincere thanks and best wishes. From a football perspective, we are always planning for all scenarios. Our recruitment team have been working tirelessly to identify players capable of strengthening the squad. Our priority is to ensure that John Rooney and his coaching staff have all the resources required to maintain our momentum and continue pushing strongly for the play-off positions this season. We have always been a Club that develops players and provides a platform for them to progress in the game and that is something we will never stand in the way of. Further updates will be provided to supporters in due course. Jonathan Bull Sporting Director Macclesfield FC

@thesilkmen Mellor was tapped up - Savage knew what his release clause was - illegal but unprovable

Macclesfield FC can confirm that D'Mani Mellor has completed his transfer to Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee. Whilst thanking D'Mani for all of his efforts during his time with us, we must place on record our understandable disappointment at the timing of the move. As a Club we did everything we could to keep D'Mani, but due to the fact that the terms of his release clause were met and the player also expressed his wish to leave, we could not prevent him from becoming the fifth Macclesfield FC player to leave for The New Lawn since last summer. Everyone at Macclesfield FC is committed to achieving our fourth promotion in five years, and we would like to reassure supporters that the Club's contingency plans will now be executed.

@thesilkmen Put a clause in players contract that they can't sign for any club that Savage is involved in

@thesilkmen Savage is a talentless egotisical lowlife - his desperation to save HIS managerial career at the expense of those who 'apparently' he valued highly is beyond belief. The only thing that matters to Robbie is Robbie - the sooner his managerial career ends the better for football

@thesilkmen All I remember is Scott Wilson? thinking he'd scored and turning away and celebrating but the ball got stuck in the mud - Danny Whitehead carried on when everyone else stopped and stuck it in for an epic win

📸 THROWBACK THURSDAY | In the latest of a series of pure, unadulterated nostalgia, we bring you images from the past and ask you to tell us all that you remember about them. This week, we bring you another iconic photograph, this time from Easter 2018 when Sir John’s National League leaders made the long trip down to Surrey to face Woking. With the game seemingly destined to end as a 2 - 2 draw, Danny Whitehead poked home an unforgettable winner - but what do you remember about that incredible day? Let us know in the comments!
