@tracybeanz Young women have been woefully uneducated as to the nuances of the cycles they will experience throughout their lives. We have done a great disservice by our failure to learn and teach these things.

I posted a frustrated rant at 10 PM on a Wednesday and apparently touched a nerve. Good. It needed to be touched. Here is what the responses made clear to me: 1. Women need to talk more - kindly, and openly, and honestly. Not the way some of the exchanges under this post went, but really talk. We need to share what we know. We need to stop gatekeeping our own experiences out of shame or silence or the misguided idea that struggling alone is strength. It isn't. It's ignorant. 2. The medical establishment does not take women's health seriously. At all. They don't take anything else seriously, but when it comes to women's health? Run the other direction. I have my own horror stories and the thread is full of them. The proof is how many of us are sitting alone googling symptoms that nobody ever warned us about. Holistic wellness practitioners actually help and actually care. The system we were told to trust has been failing us for a long time. It's time we change that for ourselves. I am. 3. Generational trauma is real and it is running through the replies to this post in real time. Moms repeating what they lived because it is all they knew. Daughters left to figure it out alone because their mothers were still too broken to try something different. Nobody is villainized here. But the pattern has to stop. If your first reaction to any of this was anger and defensiveness, think about that. That reaction is not about me. It is information about you, and it deserves your attention more than my post does. Think about it. I am a 45 year old woman living as clean as a person can live. Filtered water, natural everything, carnivore lifestyle. Clean soap, clean hair products, clean water, clean skincare - and this is still hitting me hard. Which means this is not a lifestyle failure in my case, and I can't imagine how people who are metabolically unwell feel. One thing I do know? Women deserve real information about what happens to their bodies. That ends with us.

WHY DON’T OUR MOTHERS HELP US UNDERSTAND PERIMENOPAUSE. WHY DID I HAVE TO DO THIS BY MYSELF? They never told us shit. Nothing. Nothing about the actual role of estrogen in like, every single neurological function. Not the anxiety, or itching or PVC’s and palpitations. Not the histamine reactions, or the pelvic floor issues, or the sore joints occasionally. They didn’t say a word about mood swings or how important progesterone is or what it does or what happens during luteal. THAT ENDS NOW. MY DAUGHTER WILL BE PREPARED, DAMMIT. Ladies, if you have a question I have become an effing encyclopedia of women’s health over the past 3-4 months. Holy shit what a disservice. Hot flashes? Ha! I’d trade 90% of this shit for hot flashes.

Father of the year! This father came to the rescue of his daughter, who was being harassed by a customer. The customer was harassing her and following her around to the point that the manager would walk her to her car during her breaks. She told the man she was only 16, to which he replied, “That’s okay, I’m only 30.” What a sick creep. Glad this dad stepped up and confronted the guy.

My wife and I did the same thing prior to our nuptials. God put it on our hearts to abstain until married. We had no plans for a ceremony at the time. We knew we would get married. We didn’t know when. Yet we still abstained. About two and a half years later we had the service. I had no idea how much of a level up it would be for our relationship in general and specifically for our sex life. It introduced a passion that has never abated and showed clearly that sex wasn’t a deciding factor for our love. It’s a bonus all around.

No, my spouse and I have been going through this. We’ve been sleeping apart for the past few months until we get married next weekend, even though we’ve been together for 12 years and have kids. We saw the light and came to the Church this year. We’ve been told that God will reward us greatly for doing this until marriage.

@JesusSavesUs777 I would say, yes. But only under certain conditions. Specifically, both participants must have been widowed. That way there is no expectation of virginity for/from either party. But this is primarily conjecture.

We're in two different tax brackets if you're still able to defend what's happening by "trusting the plan" while the rest of us are like wtf are we going to do....

THIS⬆️⬆️ As a person that retired young from a very lucrative career in the entertainment industry, I can verify notion that “just relaxing” becomes Its own form of psychosis, when that’s all you have to do. Definitely find a passion that brings meaning to you and pour yourself into it. Otherwise, the boredom becomes all consuming.

A lot of people have retirement plans, but they're based on being senior citizens. What would you do if you retired TOMORROW? What do you do with your time? How do you fill your days? Start projects you've always wanted to? Go crazy with boredom? I promise, if your plan is just to relax, you'll lose your mind.

You check your Apple Watch in the morning. Sleep score: 62. You decide it's going to be a foggy day. And then it is. A 2014 Colorado College study suggests the score itself causes the fog. 164 people walked into a lab. Researchers hooked them up to fake EEG equipment and told them the readout would show their REM percentage from the night before. Then they fabricated a number. Half the room was told 28.7%. Half was told 16.2%. The machine wasn't measuring anything. Participants took four cognitive tests. The Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test, where you add numbers spoken at increasing speed and hold your last sum in working memory while computing the next. And the Controlled Oral Word Association Task, where you generate as many words as you can starting with a single letter under time pressure. Both are gold-standard measures of attention and executive function used in clinical neurology. The 28.7% group outperformed the 16.2% group on both. Significantly. How rested participants actually felt that morning predicted nothing. The mechanism is mindset priming an executive resource. When you believe you slept well, you allocate cognitive effort more aggressively. You don't conserve. You don't pre-disengage. Belief about the resource changes how you spend it. Two control conditions ruled out demand characteristics. Participants weren't trying harder because they thought they should. Real measurable cognitive performance shifted with the number on the readout. The Apple Watch sleep score. The Oura ring readiness number. The morning ritual of checking either one is taxing the resource you're about to need. The performance gap from a fabricated REM percentage was larger than the gap from how rested participants actually felt. The number was louder than the night.

The people in charge don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus. Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity. Today's Morning Note newsletter covers Masoud Pezeshkian's condemnation of Trump's “desecration of Jesus,” the Iran War's gutting effects on America's housing market, Colombia's plan to murder Pablo Escobar's hippopotami, and more. I am flying home today - long travel day. I get to the airport at an ungodly hour - 3:30 AM local. I am finally through security and customs etc, and I sit down. An older man comes and sits right next to me, looks at me directly in the eyes and introduces himself. Andre. He asks me how I am and what I do, and I ask him what he does and he tells me he’s a retired Air Force vet and he’s enjoying life. After some small talk he tells me he’s a diabetic… The next 1.5 hours were spent on education. I told him everything I could about the science behind carnivore and tell him he can CURE himself and probably never need insulin again if he just goes to @KenDBerryMD channel or @SBakerMD on YouTube. He hands me his phone, I sub him to both and create a playlist for him to listen on the plane. Before leaving, he asks if we can swap email in case he has any questions. THIS is how we change things. Not on social media - by having real conversations with other humans. Thank you for your service, Andre - and here’s to better health.
