I've read a lot of speculation on Leo XIV's intentions. My only comment is this: if he doesn't reverse the damaging legislation & policies of his predecessor (e.g. "Cor orans", "Traditionis custodes" & the Sino-Vatican Accord) you have the measure of the man.

When you think it can’t get any worse… Canada is now trying to euthanise people for BACK PAIN. Miriam Lancaster visited the emergency room after waking up one morning with a sore back. The doctor’s first suggestion: Euthanasia. She had no long-term health issues. They hadn’t even examined her back. And they were already offering to kill her. You heard that right. In Miriam’s own words: “I went to the Vancouver General Hospital and I was approached by a young lady doctor whose very first words out of her mouth were, ‘We would like to offer you MAiD.’” “I was taken aback. That was the last thing on my mind. I just wanted to find out why I was in pain. I did not want to die.” Canada’s MAiD program was initially sold as a compassionate last resort for the terminally ill. A narrow “last resort” for those who were terminally ill, in immeasurable pain. And unable to maintain a basic quality of life. But that was never the reality. Euthanasia is state-sanctioned organ harvesting and legalised murder. A healthy 84-year-old woman with no history of illness shows up in the ER with a bad back… and the very first offer is a lethal injection. No tests. No investigations. No other options. Just “we think you should die.” Miriam, thankfully, refused. She spent a month in the hospital healing from a spinal fracture and made a full recovery. She has since even climbed a volcano and went on international hiking trips. But her story is just one of thousands, and too many like her have bowed down to the pressure of the medical “professionals” who are supposed to save and protect them. How many others weren’t given that chance? How many were worn down, pressured, or simply told this was their only option? We just saw the coercion, murder, and organ harvest of Noelia Castillo Ramos by the Spanish state. Who was stolen from her parents, gang-raped, traumatised so badly she tried to end her life, then left paraplegic. Doctors coerced her into agreeing to die. Then, when she started having second thoughts, they told her that her organs had already been “reserved.” They stopped her bed friend from seeing her on the day she was killed because they worried she’s change Noelia’s mind. In Belgium, children are being granted the ‘dignity’ to die before they’re even old enough to sign a legal contract. Paralympic athletes who simply asked for a mobility aid have had their doctor suggest euthanasia instead. We are told that assisted dying is dignified. That liberalisation is inevitable. That this is the evolution of a ‘free’ society. But where is the freedom in a society which pressures the vulnerable to die against their will? Where is the dignity in treating our fellow humans like produce on a shelf, to be discarded once they pass their ‘Best Before’ date? This was always the plan. Turn medicine into a kill switch for anyone who costs too much or complains too loud. If they’ll float MAiD to an 84-year-old with a fixable back injury in the ER, imagine what they’re whispering to the depressed, the disabled, the lonely, or the broke. Never let them talk you into believing your life is the problem. Or that death is the solution. Fight for your life. Because this isn’t healthcare. It’s a cull. And it’s accelerating.

Our Palm Sunday processions have not taken place due to security concerns, but every parish church was full as was St Joseph’s Cathedral ; voices lifted in praise, singing “hosanna” to our Lord, praying for His protection and for peace in the Middle East. In Him we trust.

Beautiful. The ultimate legacy of the reformation on European countries now dominated by Protestantism was the destruction of culture. Even in Ireland, where Protestantism was rejected by the people, everything was destroyed since the reformers took everything by violent repression.

The most common torture inflicted by the Muslims during the Ottoman period was whipping. The usual victims were the Christians. It was the introductory torment in every other torture, so common in the persecutions of Christians that the phrase became proverbial: "I will whip you until you change your faith." The victim was tied with exposed back, their clothes torn, and the whipping began. The executioners were usually Turkish soldiers with robust physiques, so that the blows were both critical and powerful. The number of blows was either predetermined by the court or (most of the time) left to the discretion of the executioners. Muslim judges (qadis) observed the torture. If the victim showed that they could not endure the completion of the number of blows and their life was in immediate danger, then the judge placed the Quran under the executioner's armpit. Unable to raise his arm high (since the holy text must not fall to the ground), he delivered the remaining blows with less intensity. After the whipping, the victim was often left helpless without care, or thrown into prison. In most cases, permanent disabilities remained on the body. Also, one of the harshest tortures of the Ottoman Muslims was impalement. Crowds surrounded the victim and mocked them, suggesting they convert to Islam and insulting their faith, family, and nationality. The stakes were set up in a specific area, usually in the village or town square. The victim was dragged there in public humiliation, as usual. After being severely whipped, their clothes were torn, their hands were tied tightly behind their back, and they were "seated" on the stake. Then weights were hung on their legs so that they would slide down and be skewered on the stake. In many cases, the sadism did not end with skewering the victim. The spit (with the victim on it) was placed horizontally over a fire or burning coals, and the victim was roasted alive like a lamb. The fearsome and terrible Ali Pasha of Ioannina was famous for slowly roasting his victims, thinning the coals under them to prolong the agony and the entertainment of himself and his entourage. In many cases, he forced relatives to torture and kill their own kin to avoid impalement and roasting themselves. I have an interesting story to tell you on my next post. Stay tuned. Evangelicals are partly to blame for the collapse of Middle Eastern Christianity. They are the biggest supporter of wars which destroy Christians. But it goes way deeper than that. They view Christians like Assyrians in Iraq as a pawn to expand their footprint as "authentic" Christians. They can be so brazen that they even set up local organizations & try to convert *Apostolic Christians* to *their* brand of American Christianity. Imagine destroying an Apostolic, Aramaic speaking Christian community which is 2000 years old. Then setting up an NGO to convert them to Megachurch Protestantism through bribery & handouts. Isn't that insane?

If we lose Assyrians in Iraq, we lose a people from the *Old Testament* who are preserving *Aramaic*. If we lose Maronite Christians in Lebanon, we lose the last chance of culture in the Levant. If we lose Orthodoxy in Syria, we lose every last memory & legacy of Antioch.
