All good things come to an end , Simon will retire tomorrow 23/12/23. The Cafe will have new owners and some new staff. We thank all the staff & customers who remained loyal over the years from the bottom of our hearts. We wish the new owners well. Catch you later .

@archiveireland I don’t think that contract would stand up in court! The new owners know the cafe well and will keep many things as well as adding their own enthusiasm and ideas.

@SimonsPlacecafe Can you contract that the food offering not be allowed to change? It won’t be the same without the Simon’s place cheese sandwich wrapped in impregnable clingfilm. More importantly, happy retirement Simon. A Dublin benchmark and haven for decades. Thank you.

Wandered through here last week, one of my favourite sights as a teenager. I’d waitress all summer & save up to hit Temple Bar & George’s Arcade to stock up on hair dye, stripy tights, vintage slips, makeup, albums & band tees. Channeling the 90s vibes into my current project.

Direct quote from my very VERY picky 7 year old when I arrived home with @SimonsPlacecafe Cinnamon Buns: ‘Welcome to heaven, they are delicious!’ He said with quite some authority on the matter too! The best I’ve ever had anywhere! Worth the trip every single time!! 🤤❤️
