At this stage I'm just trying to see if people might enjoy or be interested in it. It's fun, but it needs work and is a bit out my normal card/board game lane... I reckon it'll play *great* when I'm done, but if no-one thinks it's a good idea I won't do it 😂

@MillPrue Sorry to hear that but good lesson. I've regularly thought about trying to to find some forum (maybe a sub Reddit?!) for people to share 'business ideas I'll never do'. So many good ideas, so many needs to meet, may as well gift and get others doing them!

One thing I learned, sadly only learned it in the last 2 yrs, is not to go after every biz idea. I have many. I want my time with my fam more than any extra $ from another biz. 4 yrs ago I started a side biz that makes no money & causes too much stress. I'm now giving it away.

Chelsea managed a £500k tax credit in 2024/25 for 'Research and Development'. According to legislations, these are given for 'an advance in science or technology-going further than routine improvements'. I never knew creative accounting came under the heading of science and technology.

Our lovely little holiday home in Cornwall. Our daughter asked if she could stay there with the kids this summer. Honey, we'd love to but it's booked on Airbnb all through August. £400 a night. We're not a charity. She earns £35,000 a year she can find a Travelodge.

The most important thing is respect imo. Coming up with a list of things you CAN offer (free product, repost/retweets, a spot on your website with a link to their content, simple affiliate with low threshold for withdrawals, maybe a special board custom made for that creator, a care package with a tshirt, socks, a keychain, etc... just any genuine attempt at rewarding and supporting the creator). Makes them feel appreciated and shows that you value their time and effort. Second thing is total creative freedom. No strict guidelines or deadlines. If you trust your product, the outcome will be great. If the content ends up negative towards the product, you basically get free consulting/feedback and can adjust. When reaching out, don't be vague, don't ask for a meeting before giving details. Say who you are (say how cool your product is, but don't brag about how many customers you have if there's no budget), what you can offer (and that you're open to suggestions), then what you would like (be open to a mention, a tweet, a tiktok vid, or a full review, let the creator choose what seems worth it for them). You might have a couple bad experience, waste a couple of units, but the ones who love the products and have fun during the collab will never stop talking about it, paid endorsement or not. And that's on free consulting ^^

How companies act when you're a content creator.

@Level_Photo Question, if you don't mind... As a small business that would love to work with smaller content creators, but can't pay up front, what can I do to be fun and rewarding (and fair!) to work with? I run a small indie board game company if it makes a difference!

Thankfully some companies are actually both fun and rewarding to work with. Even companies that don't directly pay you can still make sure you have an awesome collab. The examples given in this video are inspired by the 99% of offers I decline.
