If you reapply for benefits using a different name variation than on file with EDD, a new debit card will be issued for that name.
Use your new card only. All funds will be transferred to the new card, and you will not be able to use the old one. No further action is needed.
If you reapply and do not qualify for a regular UI claim, you will continue collecting the rest of your PEUC claim. Then, EDD will add the additional 29 weeks of PEUC benefits available with new federal legislation. Bit.ly/UIBYE
PEUC claimants at the end of benefit year: If you reapply and qualify for a regular UI claim, but the new weekly benefit amount is less than your old PEUC extension, you will finish collecting the rest of your PEUC extension and then EDD will switch you to a new claim.

COVID-19 has resulted in unprecedented demand for Unemployment Insurance. EDD is working hard to process claims as quickly as possible.
