@LuckyMontana_ZA We deal with corruption. Some people are not arrested, we just hear rumours and that they on bail without even having been arrested. A lot of nonsense happened behind closed doors so now everything must happen in front of us. We should never dignify criminality like before!!!

One of the major reasons advanced for dismantling the “Scorpions” then was its “Hollywood” style of arrests. Today, we see this happening again without anyone raising a voice against this practice. We should ask who is behind the leaks about the arrests of suspects? Why is Chriselda Lewis and the SABC the first and only news outlet to get access to such information? One could discern from Chriselda’s own summary that she is privy to sensitive information, not only from today’s arrests by IPID but from previous arrests by the Police. She even said “when we leave here”, we (read as IPID and them as the SABC crew) are heading to the next arrest. This is unacceptable. The work of the Madlanga Commission, Ad-Hoc Committee in Parliament and community organisations, particularly March and March, has put a lot of pressure on law-enforcement agencies. They are so overzealous and competing among themselves to prove they are “working”. The SABC itself has moved beyond its duty to inform citizens in a responsible manner but seems to be chasing the price to be the first to deliver “BREAKING NEWS”. The duty to inform is about providing citizens with information to enable them to participate in the civil, political and economic life of our beloved country. It has nothing to do with destroying others snd projecting them negatively as if they have been found guilty by a court of law. Swift action against those involved in criminality should be applauded. But society should frown upon this “Hollywood” style of arrests. The dignity of accused citizens should be protected in a society that claims to be based on human-rights and the rule of law. We claim to fix the country but creating in real terms an environment that violates the human rights of others. Accused persons have the Constitutional Rights to be treated with dignity, and most importantly, as innocent until proven otherwise. Being a suspect or charged does not render one automatically guilty. I personally condemn this barbaric act we witnessing daily on our television screens. This is unacceptable and the leadership within the law-enforcement agencies must be held accountable for failure to demonstrate they took pro-active steps to prevent or discourage this type of illegal conduct. I will be writing to the Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission to investigate this barbaric act and hold those responsible accountable, lest we create a dangerous environment which undermines the human rights and dignity for citizens, including for accused persons. We need to bring a stop to this madness 😭😭😭

BREAKING Witness K who testified before the Madlanga Commission about the theft of 14 million rand precious stones in 2023 has been arrested. She testified that suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi knew about the bogus police operation and that they were in a relationship. #sabcnews

@Mgovogovo @AndiswaMadikazi For now it’s a question hence I said “if any question it must be answered”. Accountability doesn’t mean guilty.

We attended the court hearing of President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is seeking to stop the Section 89 Impeachment Committee because, according to his application, it will cause irreparable harm to his image. His application identifies no legal basis for stopping the Committee. He does not argue that the Impeachment Committee is unlawful or unconstitutional. His claim of "irreparable harm" is that, if the court later sets aside the Section 89 panel report on review, he would already have appeared before the Impeachment Committee and been subjected to the impeachment process. On that basis, he wants the court to halt the Committee's work. The President is asking the court, without legal justification, to interfere with the independence of Parliament, a separate arm of the state. That, in itself, causes harm to the separation of powers and the sovereignty of Parliament. The President involved himself criminal activities. Parliament, on behalf of the people of South Africa, is asking him to account. Instead of answering those questions, he has taken the people of South Africa to court. Is that not harm to the nation?

@Mgovogovo @AndiswaMadikazi It doesn’t enable him to break the law and if any question it must be answered. Business must be legit and without law-breaking activities.

@Mgovogovo @AndiswaMadikazi I’m saying he must account…he can account up to where it’s necessary. Whether he runs it or not or if he’s got to run it before accounting, it’s not mine to decide.

@AndiswaMadikazi People in parliament…let me be fair; Parliament of SA, represents themselves more than the people. It’s the reality!!! Adhoc committee for example, they there for party politics not us the people of SA. Madlanga was already established so that adhoc was so unnecessary.
