🇮🇷🇺🇸🇵🇰 The U.S. says talks are "progressing." Iran says there are no direct talks at all. Both are technically right, which is the problem. Araghchi is touring Pakistan, Oman, and Russia to feel out US positions through intermediaries. Witkoff and Kushner are flying to Islamabad. The White House is calling it momentum, while Tehran is calling it proximity diplomacy at best, because Iran won't sit across from the U.S. while a naval blockade is still in place. 2 sides performing diplomacy for different audiences, with no shared definition of what a deal even looks like.
