I had the chance to speak to a very brave ER doctor who has made some damning statements about BC healthcare.
This feels like a watershed moment to me for healthcare in the province. Something has to change.

Seeing so many folks post about ER wait times in BC, and last week, I had to go into RCH ER. Arrived at about 10 pm on Thursday night. Didn't get to see a doctor until about 7 am on Friday morning. The docs and nurses were great... but our system is REALLY messed up.

@daman1987 Oh man. This is such a handy tool. I looked the night I had to go but RCH was listed as “unavailable” which was prbly a bad sign 😓

@SimranRoohi It’s crazy. We follow the website ED wait times. Right now it’s the lowest wait I’ve seen. We had to go to Urgent Primary Care (UPCC) and it was faster compared to 10 hours ER wait but still took about 3 hours to see a doctor.

I was also told by a nurse that there were only 2 nurses and one doctor staffed for that shift (I'm not sure if that's the norm). I overheard the doc say that he had seen about 15 patients that night.
