@bradleywhitford Mr W, I believe Bush 41 responded to the invasion of Kuwait. You’re certainly correct for the other though.

@black13830 @ChrisPenknz To be fair, the shop assistant role is the only paid role outside of politics or academia mentioned on Wikipedia which, you’re to correct/ update. I’m guessing her electorate office was the biggest budget Ardern managed after the fish & chip shop. Arden’s failure is no surprise.

After @ChrisPenknz's put down of a prior Labour PM's fish & chip shop job as a teen, a quick Google let me know he had first jobs as a paper run delivery person and a library assistant. I did a paper run too. Our first forays into work should not be weaponized decades later.

@ZelenskyyUa Propaganda is the tool of a failing state. It is only the cold hard truth that breeds trust that is the basis of a healthy engaged society like Ukraine.

We know the end of Hitler. We understand the end of Putin. Weaponizing sports, music, film and art festivals – like Venice Biennale – never helps. Across various cultural platforms – even during children's animation festivals – the Russians stuff their movies with propaganda to indoctrinate their society from a very young age. But it never helps. I'm sure their nation will face a tragic end. In an interview with Caolan Robertson (3/3)

@dpfdpf Is @potus writing a memo to a subordinate with his “thank you for your attention to this matter”? Seriously, sending ANYONE to a war zone and a totalitarian dictatorship is unacceptable in a democracy.

@SonofOmahu Cullen was a bit too keen on running giant surpluses as a status symbol - which dampened the economy. Though his aggressive debt-repayment meant we had an easier time during the GFC. But I pin that on Cullen, not Clark.

@DrJillStein Why are you sharing enemy propaganda? If it ain’t confirmed by YOUR government it hasn’t happened. Unless it’s watergate. Or something ICE or DOJ related.

@henrycooke Blue dots support leaders with capability. The electorate chooses leaders who are popular like Ardern and Hipkins who promised jobs and wealth the delivered the Cost of Living Crisis. Do you want capable or popular?

A prime minister who does not understand how vulnerable New Zealand’s economy is to a Middle Eastern war as we have now, is a Prime Minister who should be removed from office. New Zealand needs regime change thestandard.nz/new-zealand-ne… via @thestandard

@BBCNews The Prince of Wales is no more responsible for his uncle than you are accountable for your aunt/uncle. The King has clearly removed every honour gifted to Andrew. How the UK govt react if the matter of extradition is raised will illuminate who pursues the rule of law.

All is not well in Labour's caucus. Two Maori MPs have announced not they will retire at the election, but that they will leave Parliament in February. Neither have jobs to go to. Journalists should be curious as to why they would not stay on until the election.

@khaledmahturkk @rnz_news @AklTransport Central govt. isn’t responsible for local passenger trains. Regional trains certainly freight travel yes but not local passenger. In Auckland that’s Auckland Transport responsibility.

So Hon Chris Bishop Minisner of transport, closed ALL #auckland trains for the first two days of ALL kids going back to school, for testing. They could test on the past 6 weeks of school holidays, instead disrupting how 10’sof thousands of kids get school. @rnz_news @AklTransport

@cjsbishop Hipkins might have a short memory. Do we still consider him to be The Chief Architect for the Cost of Living Crisis?

Nonsense. There have been three October elections since 1996. Three November and three September. Perfectly normal date.

I’ve just announced that the 2026 General Election will be held on Saturday 7 November. With National, New Zealanders get a party with a plan to fix the basics and build the future to help Kiwis get ahead. We’re making great progress. The alternative is the same Labour Party that made a mess last time and would make an even worse mess next time with the Greens and Te Pati Maori. A capital gains tax would be just the start of policies that punish Kiwis for doing the right thing by saving and investing. One thing you can be sure of is that after Labour spends everything they’ve got, they always come after more of your money. With the election date announced, our priority is to continue to deliver on our plan to fix the basics and build the future to secure a better future for Kiwis for generations to come.
