When friends start homeschooling they are invariably shocked at how little time is needed for academics. School just fills the time.

@Marie_Haynes Reddit will no longer be what it once was (wasn't good to begin with, it's a massive echo chamber) once SEOs start buying accounts with high Karma to influence. You can already claim you're an expert on Quora so they are good there.

Wondering why Reddit and Quora are doing well in the helpful content update? In December Google added the extra E, experience, to the QRG. When the QRG changes it means that Google wants their algorithms and systems to change. The model of what a searcher is likely to find helpful has been adjusted to better reward experience where it would be helpful. Forums are places where real people are sharing their real life experiences.

@PaddyG96 I think making videos is alright. Can think of many better things to do if I'm honest. All the creators I know in my niche don't love it either. Seriously.

''I want do YouTube but I just hate making videos'' An 18-year-old follower recently sent me this message and I was left stunned. I think there's a worrying culture emerging. Here was my response: If you just see youtube as a quick and easy way to make passive income: Don't do YouTube. If you don't wake up and get excited about making videos: Don't do YouTube. If you aren't willing to make videos for 2 years with no results: Don't do YouTube. You don't have to do this. YouTube is not for everyone. Not everyone should have a YouTube channel. Saying you want to do youtube but hate making videos is crazy. It's like saying ''I want to be a soccer player but I hate kicking the ball'' Like bro... really examine why you want to do this... is it money and fame or is it real passion? For me, if you want to do YouTube, you need to tick 3 main boxes: - Passionate about making content - Patient and willing to give it 2-3 years of uploading - Willing to constantly improve and work on skills Even if you don't become a full time YouTuber you will build the most important skills in the world right now and get hired. So if you're one of those people, keep calm, carry on uploading and follow @PaddyG96. If you're an 18 year old, the world's at your feet, don't try to do youtube just because some TikTok said it was an easy way to make $10k/month. Share this message.

@nickfloats Definitely agree. Discord is probably paying them a ton to stay there. There are just too many steps in the beginning. They have probably made a lot of money off of people who just gave up.

@Ed_FilmBooth Maybe sell the channel but hold onto our website. Video creation just isn't as sustainable and there are too many ups and downs. I'd like to teach at a local university. It would be great if they hired actually successful content creators over those who never did it.

What’s your exit plan as a YouTube creator? Have you ever thought about what is next when you finally decide to stop making content? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this as I notice more and more creators move on to new opportunities outside of the platform.

YouTube platform-wide video performance data: - 30% of videos don't get 100 views - 53% of videos don't get 500 views - 10.4% of videos get above 1,000 views - 4.3% of videos get above 10,000 views - 0.33% have more than 1 million views - 1% of YouTube Videos get 93% of YouTube views This data can either be fuel for pessimists who believe YouTube plays favorites & success is impossible... Or it can be incredible validation for those of you whose videos have reached 1,000 organic views but still have trolls telling you that you're 'not successful'. You decide.

@BoredElonMusk All ratings are meaningless these days. I actually look for 4.5's or lower on Amazon now. Anything higher and I get suspicious.

Content review systems are broken. Because critics have a problem with Chris Pratt, the "experts" have deemed the new Mario movie a D- even though audiences clearly love it. Both of these groups are obviously biased, but the disparity here reveals a major problem.

@robertoblake 100% agree. Can't even get a hold of someone at Facebook. I know Facebook has partner managers but not sure when that happens or if they do much.

YouTube is the only platform I’ve seen work to address their messaging and communication problems. There is still work to be done but the other platforms are just a mess. You can call me biased, but you can’t call me wrong…

Bad YouTube titles: • Unclear • Overhyped • Tell, doesn’t show • Stuffed with keywords • Wordy Good YouTube titles: • Clear • Easy to read • Speak to audience’s dreams & fears • Use curiosity (tastefully) • Specific

@robertoblake Facebook does pay creators through its Watch program. Harder to get monetized than YouTube, but yes they do pay and CPM/RPMs are the same and often higher than YouTube.

The new YouTube podcast stuff is interesting and I think with the other features YouTube has coming out that it’s going to be hard to compete with. I think no platform even the ones that specialize in something, can stand up to YouTube’s offerings whenever YouTube gets serious about the product roadmap. I should really do a video about my predictions breaking down what they have revealed and what I think it all is leading up to. But they really have the best platform in the game and everyone is playing catch up. Twitch and TikTok are less than a handful of features away from being redundant. Instagram and Facebook Reels don’t even pay Creators anymore. The only Platforms being serious as contenders are Spotify and Rumble and they are both being smart about it from what I see. More platforms need to fight for Creator talent and invest in Creators and offer competitive compensation and unique enough experiences for audiences.

@Ed_FilmBooth We've been in the pain zone for months. My best advice to any aspiring YouTuber is to not be all YouTube. Have a website, post on Facebook, sell courses, etc.

@epidemicsound I have had so many issues with Facebook. The same person keeps claiming rights to songs we have downloaded and used per our membership with you. On YouTube, we have zero issues with the same exact songs. Can't you guys talk to Facebook and help creators?

@robertoblake 120ish. Things were really slow then a video went up fast. Luck is a big factor in this game. Many great creators quit right before one video takes off.

Creators with 100,000 YouTube Subscribers How many uploads did it take you to get to 100,000 Subscribers? 👇🏾👇🏾 It took me making 800 videos to get to 100,000 and 1600 videos to get to nearly 600,000.

@robertoblake ChatGPT is a now a well-covered topic. Viewers are "experts" in knowing all the material from the majority of videos that have been recently published. Maybe the initial 30 seconds were boring to them and they wanted something game-changing right away?

Latest video had 45% retention. I don’t know what I could have done any differently in the intro to keep the 30% that left in the first 30 seconds. I feel like it was edited enough and concise enough to keep people watching and interested and if they clicked for the 7 Tips, they should stay for them… 45% on an 8 minute video is good but not great. It’s really good for losing 30% at the start and keeping 30% to the very end… But I honestly don’t know how I could have done anything differently to keep that 30% other than make the damn video 30 seconds…
